In the middle of a movie the game bombs uot how do you rix this.
or disable the movie

I have a problem of the same kind. I use Windows ME the RTM version, and during save and load times. The game sometimes vanishes and the desktop appears. I don't know what caused this, but I heard that the RTM version of WinME sucks.

If this is the problem where the game disappears and your desktop appears, I had the same problem. It happened to me whenever a movie started. It IS because of the via apollo 133 chipset. I fixed the problem by disabling the movies in the baldur.ini file. Under Program Options, type in Disable Movies=1 and eliminate any other lines which enable the movies. You don't get to see the movies, but at least you don't constantly crash.
