Missing Items (SPOILER)

There were two opportunities after the trial where I should have gotten some items, but didn't seem to.

First, when standing vigil in the temple, Sand came up and "gave" me some potions. They never appeared in my inventory that I can tell. I suppose it's possible Sand just gave me more potions of kinds I already had and they just stacked, but I am not convinced. It looks more like I never got them due to the constant cut scene transitions. Not a huge deal, but annoying.

Second, after beating Lorne, I was told his belongings were now mine, but I never got the opportunity to loot him. A cut scene later and I was in the Flagon with my companions.

So, are these bugs or did I miss something somehow?

I don't recall Sand ever giving me any potions but you must have had the same kind of potions and they stacked.

There is a bag next to the exit door at the Flagon which contains his loot.

If you look towards the door leaving the Flagon, you'll notice 2 chests there - one from Nasher and one from Lorne.
At least that is how it was in my game.

What was in the chest from Nasher? Because I only had one chest (I thought there had been a bag but when you mention it I remember it being a chest).

Ah, I posted this just after I won the fight, and haven't so much as looked around - heh, almost made myself late for work doing the fight, had to scram as soon as I had a place to save and stop. Thanks, I'll look for the loot containers :) .

I got an Amulet of Truth (gives true seeing).

My character was acquitted of the crime and did not kill Lorne. I do not know if your result was different from these, which could explain why you didn't get Nasher's gift?

I assume the content of the chest depends on how the trial goes, that is, whether you are found innocent at the actual trial or you have to fight for innocence.

Probably to keep balance between the two versions of the story line.

Sand visited me during my time between Trial and Battle, too, and he didn't give me anything, either. I think they put that in there just to add a little something to the game, or perhaps you'd have received the potions if you didn't have any at all.

I was wondering about that. I found the trial itself to be impossible, but it was probably because I never worked on my influence with Shandra. I must have ran through it a dozen times (which was really tedious), and the only place where I seemed I could not get favorable responses no matter what I did was when the girl from Ember and Shandra were testifying. Much to my annoyance, I found I only had to talk to her a bit to get quite a few influence points ... ah well.

In any case, having lost the trial and fought Lorne, I just had the one chest. I'm a bit surprised to hear that fight could have been avoided ... I thought for sure if I won the trial, Torio would have pulled the Trial by Combat stunt and I would fight him no matter what.

The fight can not be avoided.

OK, so then I just misunderstood someone's post that gave me the impression it could. Wouldn't make sense really, it's a major fight.

I thought he ment that Lorne had escaped or something.

A simple misunderstanding on my behalf. :o

Exactly.

Was acquitted; fought and won; but let Lorne live
Got the amulet from Nasher and Sword/Armor from defeating Lorne.
