A thought just occured to me ( a rare event). Although I have never followed those threads, from what I read here, every female NPC can be succesfully romanced. Does the same hold true for the male NPC's using a female protagonist?

Mazzy can not be romanced.

Anomen is the only NPC that can be successfully romanced, but i am not so sure you want to

Well... am no girl but I know the answer anyway. Only three of the female NPCs can be romanced (Jaheira, Viconia and Aerie). Only one of the male NPCs can be romanced (Anomen).

It was just curiosity, the only NPC who appealed to me enough to even consider trying to romance was Mazzy. The rest of the females had, I thought, fairly unpleasant dispostions.

Unpleasant dispositions? Don't let that stop you my good man.

The lookers usually have unpleasant dispositions. Still, I go for them

Isn't Mazzy a bit, um, short? (Unless you're playing a dwarf or halfling).

When you get to a certain age, ( I'm a great grandfather), you have to pace yourself. That's when you realize that looks are highly overrated, except for simply looking.

still, she is a halfling...

I still like Viconia, her portrait has that cute little nose. although her skin colour suggests neumonia

Well, I thought Aerie wasn't half bad.. but then again, I considered marrying Nalia to get the Keep. (Pity she doesn't fancy girls..)

You can still get Nalias Keep, even if you're a woman. I did anyway.
But true, yes, she doesn't fancy women, but that would be highly odd if she did.

I'm playing a sick little game right now that is super fun. Learned the trick from another thread. Started my game as a female, which activates the Anomen romance (the options for what romances CAN occur are activated in character creation). Then, as soon as the game started, I used Shadowkeeper to change her sex to male. When you then restart the game, you activate the three female romances. Then, I changed it back to female--this doesn't deactivate the female romances. So, right now I'm playing a female sorcerer who is lovey with both Anomen and Jahiera. And since the game never expects you to be romancing both of them, you never have to choose like you do with the girls, so the scripts run for the whole game. Menage, anyone?

On a related note (true to the thread), I know this has been brought up before but I really think the developers did us a disservice making Anomen the only love interest for female PCs. People who want to play female PCs really should have more options than just Sir Arrogant. I think Yoshimo and Edwin would have made good additions. In both cases, something happens that could be very interesting from a romance point of view...esp. with Edwin
