Question about dual damagetypes(scythe)

Is this good or bad? There is both piercing and slashing, I suppose the only thing this affects are potential damageresistant enemies. But I searched on obsidian forums and found out that it actually worked to a disadvantage in nwn1 because your damage was resisted if the oponent had DR against either slashing or piercing. Does it work correctly in this game?

If no one knows, could you then direct me to 2 different oponents I might find quickly in the first act that have these DR's?

Ive been trying to figure if the falchion or scythe would be the best for my weaponmaster.

Also is there any possibilty to make wielding a scythe look cooler? Like a black robe or something? I think a scythe right now makes my fighter look like a farmer with armor, which is enough for me to reconsider the whole scythedeal but just to be sure I want to know if its "better" than falchion.

"damage was resisted if the oponent had DR against either slashing or piercing"

Really?
I never knew, bad news.
So by your question it was a bug in NWN and maybe in NWN2?
I really don't know DRs but would the asseess spell do it?
I think it should, well maybe its a Sorc or Mage spell iir.

Yeah, Animation kinda sucks currently for many things. :(

Ehh, dunno how it works, but if you want to test it, test it on a weakling zombie or something.

Most zombie like undead have DR to slashing, so if the scythe does normal damage to it, then the Piercing OR slashing part works, but if it still takes off for DR, then it's still bugged.

Your right, I should try it on the undeads. Ill hold of taking weapon focus untill lvl 6 with my new char and check it out :)

I have no idea about assess spell? you mean assay resistance? that one is only for lowering their magic resistance.

Two things, all hinging on the words "and" or "or" in the description.

If you have a weapon that is "Piercing OR slashing", you should be able to deal one or the other, upon your choice. How the game engine deals with this I am clueless.

If it says "Piercing and slashing" you deal both, all the time. Which means, if you have DR/Bludgeoning, like a skeleton, you won't be doing my damage at all.

Lowering magic resistance does nothing for anything but Spell Resistance, which isn't damage resistance. It won't help here.

I didnt say it would work against DR, I was just asking if that was infact the spell that Acleacius was referring to in his post.

And yeah I know how it is supposed to work with scythes different damagetypes, its just that since they messed it up in nwn1 I have concerns that it might be messed up in this game aswell.

I still havent been playing so no testing for me yet, maybe ill play now... maybe!

Actaully I thought there was a spell that would tell a Mobs DR and couldn't remember the name.
Maybe that is a different game or rule set but letting you know all there weakness and strengths i.e 100% Fire resistance or 0% Slashing resistance.
