WideScreen Woes

Hi all,

I am having some issues regarding the play of Lionheart, and my Belinea 1925 S1W Wide-Screen Monitor.

Firstly, as the monitor is in a widscreen format, 4:3 resolutions such as 640x480, 800x600, and 1024x768 are always stretched to strange dimensions, or in the case of Lionheart, the top left of the screen contains the game window, though the game map stretches accross the entire width of the screen

Secondly, i am using a Radeon X1800 PCI-E card, with the latest Catalyst 6.11 driver set, however, in addition to the resolution problems, the game interface that appears in the top right of my screen is frequently placed behind game characters or blacked out until i run over it with the mouse indicating there is some other problem, but as i am using the latest drivers i am unsure as to what, and i believe the problem lies with the game.

Is there a 16:10 (Widescreen) fix for Lionheart out there? Is there a solution to the Radeon graphics problems? Any help will be greatly appreciated

I've had Lionheart since it came out, though never the time to play it, now i have some time i want to be able to look at it, what i can't figure out is that Baldur's Gate, Baldur's Gate II, Icewind Dale, and Icewind Dale II all work fine with the 1925 S1W monitor, it seems that only Planescape and Lionheart have issues

Cheers

Jacob

[UPDATE] Having now updated again to the newest Catalyst Drivers (7.1) i am still having the same graphical glitches :(

Additionally, i still cannot get the game to run in any widescreen resolution, even when adding all appropriate resolutions to the config file in the games directory. I'm guessing that this means the game certainly will need a patch, though i have no experience to code one

Lionheart always has appeared to struggle with any resolutions outside the default, unfortunately. The resolution can be changed in the config file, but that messes up the interface. As for patches, well, the game developers, Black Isle, are long gone, so it's unlikely you'll be able to get one.
