Best timing to dual your character

First time I played, I created a fighter then dual to mage at level 8. So, I could use fighter ability by the end of the slaver plot.
I wonder how about other classes? Some may be better dual immediately, or you cannot use his/her primary ability in the game. I want to hear any classes Image.

Dual classing would be a lot more fun if you could dualclass without he restrictions of being human...I would love to dual class my figher/mage elf..but alas i have to make do with multiclass...ah well she still rocks and looks cool as hell.

I don't fancy dual-classing (nor multi-clas characters) much (did it only twice) but here is my experience:

Thief (assasin) to mage: lvl 9: Had most of the fancy assasin capabilities and still was able to hit lvl 10 as a mage pretty soon, to activate the assasin class again. A quite interesting character.

Thief (assasin, again Image) to fighter: lvl. 11.
I tried this the hard way, cause it is not easy to reach lvl 12 as a fighter, so I had to do all the quests before spellhold (where I lost... you know whom) to have a decent thief when getting out of there (Imoen is NOT a decent thief and Jan is... well... too short Image)

It really depends on the class, I think. Different thing dualing a thief or a fighter. I think if I go through it again, I should start with a fighter (maybe Berserker, they are very good) and dual him to a thief at lvl 11.

I dualed from a fighter to a thief at lev 9. He was pretty weak but his high hit points helped him to survive untill he got his fighter skills back and then he kicked ass!

Playing solo I dualed from Berzerker to Thief at level 10. In a party I would definitely recommend dualing at level 13 if going F/T but doing it solo is tough.

I'm really impatient when dcing, i always want both classes as soon as possible. imho, dualling into a thief is an excellent way to go, cos they have the best xp table and they rock at high levels. it's always nice when you need to earn LESS points in your second class in order to get your first one back.
