I killed Gaal in the first room, and proceeded to take out the Eye, but now I can not get into the northwestern room (tomb of Shade Lich). Is there any way to get in to the tomb?

There is a second entrance to the tomb of the shade lich through the beholder's lair. Its on the bottom part of the screen. When you exit out of there, it will show a hidden door, even though it cannot be unlocked or picked, just walking right through it...will cause it to open if you are coming from the Beholders lair side of it...hope that makes sense
