I am not sure if I am posting this in the correct section, please move it if its in the wrong place.

I am having with two quests: the Thinned Blood one and The Pain of Being Mercurio. My main problem is getting the key I keep reading about. According to what I have read, I am under the assumption that the receptionist should have provided me with a key.

I was not provided with this key though, and I am unable to talk to the receptionist again. At the blood bank guy, I talk to him and he tells me the only way I can get in is from the evil queen (the receptionist).

Please help me with my situation, it will be greatly appreciated.

I am playing as a Malkavian Female.

The dialog to get this key is available based on your Persuasion ability. I'm guessing yours is not high enough so you don't have the option.

You are really early in the game so you could re-roll (as a Malkavian) and put your 1 Social Point into Charisma and your 3 Knowledge points into Scholarship. This would give you a Persuasion of 5 which would make the key dialog available.

Alternately you can run with the character you built. It it possible to fufill all the missions without getting the key from the receptionist at all. Reply to this message again if you want more specifics on how to do this.

Just so everybody is clear, the P&P terminology threw me a bit, too, but by 're-roll' fbandersnatch is referring to creating a new character in VTMB using terminology from the P&P game, not the P&P game itself.

Lock picking might also help (you might need to blood buff though).
