Have finished almost all the dungeons under the asylum, talk to Saemon and he told me about releasing the prisoners to help me defeat Irenicus. However, the moment is step into Irenicus Lab (where all the prisoners are held), Irenicus appears and imprisoned me in the glass tubes again and went into an endless loop. Please help. Thanks.

which part are you talking about? you actually free the prisoners before going into the lab, otherwise he imprisons you. that's what I found at least. I don't think that's a bug actually, but that's my take on it.

No, I have not even freed the prisoners yet. Immediately arriving at Irenicus' lab after finishing all the dungeons below and talking to Saemon (the captain who brought me to Brynnlaw), Irenicus appears and imprisoned me like when I arrived at the asylum the very first time. Thanks for any help offered. Have been stuck at that point since a week ago!

After talking to Saemon head to the other side of the screen.Take that door. This will take you to the other prisoners. Image

I did. And when my party arrive, Irenicus appears almost immediately. I could see one of the prisoners (something "the sane") but before I could talk to him, I am imprisoned again.

at that point does he begin to torture you and then kill the prisoners in the tubes around you? or are you imprisoned yet another time after that which I'm just not picking up on?

I am imprisoned yet another time. I am taken back to the sequence where he kills all the prisoners in the tubes but there are no one in the tubes anymore.

That's just weird, dude. Wish I could help you but I haven't got a clue as to what you're going through. If you have a save game before going into the asylum then you may want to try reloading and see if it's a glitch. Of course, I may be completely missing the boat on this one, and if any of you other guys and gals out there know what in the hell is going on here, help out please.

This might be a stupid ?Did you go to the center of the screen first?Or are you following the screen around the edges?

Then this is a known bug, Weasel? I take it Interplay has yet to address this in a patch; maybe they have a workaround that they would share with us.

Thanks for all the efforts. Guess I will be stuck here until Interplay comes up with something.

Do you have a save game before this fiasco started or are you, in essence, screwed? If you're s.o.l. then you havemy deepest condolences.

I have a save right before going in to the Asylum map. However, I just don't feel like trying that just in case I am back to this position again when I have finish the dungeons again.

How about loading that one up and saving it to a differnt spot? That way you will still have it.

Sounds like the file in your cache folder might have become damaged somehow. Or even worse it might be so that the game "glitched" when it was supposed to update your character file.

Try emptying your cache folder, thus reloading the map. If this do not help then you are pretty much at a point of no return without using editors to help you trough. There should be a way to "flag" the dream sequence on your character file, using the Shadowkeeper utility. I have never tried this myself however so I can not help you further.

When that happened to myself then I just gave up and started over. It has never happened again though. Wich is fortunate...
