Looking for some thoughts on who to release when "X" is rescued (spoilers)

Sorry for the somewhat silly title, but we still seem to be getting quite a few new players, and I didn't want to spoil the fact that Imoen is kidnapped

Anyway, I'm facing a bit of a dilemna, because I'm playing with a fairly new combination of NPCs, and I am enjoying their "company," because they all have great personalities and plenty of banter.
They are: PC (Stalker), Minsc, Korgan, Viconia, Jan, Keto

However, I will need to make a decision on who to pinkslip before heading off to get Immy. Yes, I know that I could just have the girl return by herself, but I can never bring myself to be quite that heartless.
Though, I'd likely pick back up whomever I drop once Imoen's soul is restored.

I'm more concerned about party interaction here than anything else, so while I know that Minsc, Korgan or Jan would be obvious choices, I'm still finding this a difficult decision.

Suggestions?

IMO, I would drop Korgan, 90 percent of the times I've played I've used Jan, Just love his responses and abilities....Minsc, I usually kept throughout the game, because of Boo ....Have only played Viconia a couple of times so I cannot really give you an opinion on keeping her. By the way, may be cold hearted but after about 10 playthroughs I started dropping Imoen each time to try different combos.

On another subject, thanks for the nod for rookie, at my age being considered a rookie is thanks enough:laugh:

ok you're a ranger so you're good.
you know that imoen is a bhaalspawn and after Jon's experiments she can handle herself fine. or, just escort her to the copper coronet. (or in keldorn's house, she might thank you!)
do not dump Minsc, he loves adventuring.
eventually chuck Korgan (for a while)
even without your main tank, an experienced player can handle pretty anything...

Drop Korgan. He's a single-classed Fighter, so he'll catch up the quickest when you pick him back up.
