Spell Sequancer

To experimental players :
Which combo deals the most damage ?

I usualy use flame arrow(2) and magic missile(1) or 3 magic missiles all the way. Fireball , lightining and flame arrow also looks fine but i would prefer a combo that concentrates on one target .

I once tried placing greater malison on the 1st slot then filling the remaining slots with magic missile , When i unleashed the sequancer greater malison came after magic missiles hit the target .I thought it would lower the saving throws causing more damage . Failed ..

Any suggestions ?

I believe Magusg said that Melf's Minute Meteors does more damage. I've never tried it , like you I always loaded up magic missles and flame arrows. Might be worth giving it a try.

Why magic missiles? They are cast only for time 1 anyway. You probably have a reason but I just don't see it Image.

This is my secret formula for highhitting damage. Greater Malison is a must as it sets up the target for a world of hurt, then slow it got a good modifier already (greater malison won't kick in until the round after it hits), and then chaos.

A crowd thusly softened up will then be at a complete loss against the second spellcasters three skull traps. Not many opponents have electrical resistance and the damagedice of skulltrap is openended meaning that Imoen at the moment dishes out between 45-270 points of damage in area effect.

Sauhagin and Ku-Toa fall like flies against a bugzapper.

Airie is even better since she can mix in priest spells into her sequencers. Too bad one can't have a druid/cleric/mage but I guess that would be overkill.

Melf's Minute Meters is a unique spell. It doesn't cause meteors to rain down from above and smite your enemies (though that would be great fun Image). It fills your weapon slots with meteors that you hurl like darts. So, in essence, it's a replacement weapon for mages. It allows a party consisting mostly of melee-deficient mages (like mine) to do a heck of a lot of damage over a long period of time. I don't know if my party could have survived the early stages of the game without it. The only annoying thing is that you can't choose whether to use a normal weapon or the meteors, so your mages end up wasting them on pitiful enemies like goblins.
Now that the effect of casting the spell has been revealed, it's obvious that putting it in a spell sequencer would be rather stupid. You'll probably already have the spell active, and casting it again only replenishes the meteors to max (one per character level) Back to the original question, I don't use spell sequencer much. I usually put greater malision and two spider spawns in, though that probably is not the best I could come up with. Now that I think of it, casting limited wish: minor invulnerablity on all, and then letting loose with a dozen sequenced skull traps would be quite a killer Image I'll have to try that sometime...
