I got stuck behind a locked door and can't pick it but I could levitate over the ledge. In the mean time I'll probably use a scroll to open the door lock but I was trying to levitate with a potion and I couldn't figure it out.

I tried several times drinking a potion. A purple circle appears below my char and I tried hitting all kinds of buttons to figure out how to control the movement but he didn't get airborn!

Please let me know how to control levitation. I tried a search but there were billions of other discussions on levitation and I couldn't find the needle in the haystack.

It's very simple... (IIRC) your character goes to that direction where it's face is showing. So, if the potion is affecting you and you look upwards and try to walk, you get off the ground.

So, just walk when your face is directing upwards...
