Wedded; What now?

Okay, I married a shopkeeeper.
My question now is:
Will she continue to keep shop, or will she spend the whole day puttering around the house?
Will I need to return to her every night? If not, how often will I need to spend time with her?
Also- her shop came up for sale once I married her, so I bought it!
Should I keep it? What happens then?
What happens if I rent it? Will there be a new shopkeeper in there?
(I don't think I'd like that! I'd feel like the new one has taken my wife's job from her!)
Am I mistaken, or is this starting to sound more like a game of "The Sims" than an rpg!?!

Just who cares her job is probably done now that she's married a hero and it doesn't really matter what job she has... So I'm not that sure you can actually make your wife work...

She will more likely stay in the house and not be in the shop anymore.

Well, if I recall correctly, you will have to return to her
once in three days. That is how long she can tolerate your absence. If you go over that limit, she will be bound to leave you.

Some of the features in Fable does remind me of the Sims, like marriage, flirting and the ability to buy a house. They're mostly aesthetic to me.

If you marry a shopkeeper they will act like anyother person that you marry. As soon as you marry a shopkeeper, the shop goes up for sale...as you have discovered.
You will find that even if you own the shop, a new shopkeeper will come and take over as normal.
Now the new person who comes will look exactly like your wife! :speech:
The good thing about owning a shop is that you will get a further discount on goods.

For real?! I didn't realize that... it may make buying shops actually worth it. Do you know what the discount is (like, 10% or something)?

No, it's not. The Sims is a simulation game, not an RPG, to be precise.

I don't know about the three day limit, i'm sure it is possible. I think it is harder to get rid of a wife than to keep one. I got married in one town and then found someone else I would rather marry, so I ignored my wife attack her and gave her fake wedding rings before she left me.
Oh yeah i almost forgot that by the time she broke up with me i was so evil that no one would marry me anyway
