Hi to everyone,

I´d like to ask you ´bout monitor resolution sizes. On a 17 monitor (1024x768) game graphics looks not so fine, all is like zoomed and bigger, etc... I was trying to fix it in fallout properties but there is no resolution settings... How can I fix it? ´Cos when I had a 15 monitor there was no problem with graphics and the resolution... Or it´s not a resolution problem?

Thnxz

Well, the problem is that Fallout 1 is VERY old game (1997), and was developed for resolution of 800 X 600 (or something like that). So, it's no wonder that it looks almost terrible in newer, bigger screens...

I think it's possible to run the game in window -mode...
Maybe you should check properties of the exe file to see if you can run it in window mode...

or perhaps to create a shortcut and add something like -w or /w to the end of the "target" -section...

I haven't myself ever usaed window mode, as it's not that bad in Fallout 2 and in case of Fallout 1 you get used to it rather quickly...

As Kipi said, Fallout is quite an old game with its graphics locked to 640x480 at 256 colors. However, there was a project on a fanmade resolution patch for, but it was quite unstable and it worked best on resolutions of up to 1024x768, if I can recall correctly. The site where the mod could be downloaded from is now unfortunately offline, and googling for "fallout resolution patch" doesn't give many results worth mentioning. Check this link to the NMA forum for additional info. ;)
