Ugh, I got the first email but not the second. Am I Fubar? Or do I still have a chance of getting accepted.

My e-mails were almost instantly after eachother :\

But it does say it could be up to 2-3 days before you get the 2nd email, so there's still hope. :)

I think the second best way to secure a spot is by buying Crackdown, you have a great shot a spot plus from the demo I have played of Crackdown, it has potential to be a good game.

I hate Crackdown, the demo tells me everything I need to know about the game, and it fails. Then again it's just my opinion. Only reason it's gonna sell is because of the H3 BETA it comes with.

Kind of agree here and I'm sure quite a lot of people (especially the HALO fans) will only buy Crackdown because of the HALO 3 Multiplayer Beta. At least the good thing is, in case that the game isn't that good, there's always that multiplayer beta to look out for. ;)

P.S. This method reminds me a lot of what Square-Enix did for Dragon Quest VIII (PS2) by adding the Final Fantasy XII demo along with the game in order to get more sales. The difference is, at least Dragon Quest VIII is good.

I don't mind demos but I don't look forward to playing a beta version of a game since, well, at that stage (and from past experiences playing beta versions of some MMORPGs) the game is still under testing and will surely be unstable and prone to a lot of problems.

It's not like they're releasing JUST the BETA and never the game itself. The BETA's just a bonus to us so we should be grateful, if anything. What's better?

No BETA Months before the game itself comes out

or

Nothing at all months before the game itself comes out
