Nickamus

Hi,

I have a little bit of a problem in chapter 2.I cleaned out the whole temple, and i left to chapter 3 (i got autosave of chapter 3).But then i realised i didnt complete the squaregame.Soo i loaded 1 of earlier saves.
I started doing them, came to number 8.For like 2 ranks, i saw this message "red abishai: regenerating".But i didnt quite know why...Anyway, at rank 8, suddenly i see sword spider, red abishai, horror, itd. atacking me.
I loaded back to rank 6, everything is ok (save said little less then 4500 days). Then i load 4600 days, and nickamus is outside his room (at oposide wall), red named with monsters around him.
Now, some ppl said in other topics, that if you break his locker he will atack you.But since i have save of chapter 3, i dont think thats the case.

I did few things to test my theory.I loaded 4500 days, then rested until it was like 4800, and he still didnt get red (but in another save he got red in 4600 days).

Then i atacked him, and i saw he did this: Went to oposite wall of his room, summoned all those mobs that atacked me earlier and waited there.

Soo, tell me this. When i fought mobs in square, they sometimes teleported to room where my other characters were. And i used those characters to kill the monster, i used lance of disruption on this mob.And as i tested, this spell indeed goes out of room and damage nickamus (i used it once randomly to test and it hit Nickamus, even if he was moving). And i used many lances of disruption since 6th rank - 8th rank.

Anyway, tell me, since i DID break into his locker and left only darts inside...is it 100% he will atack you if you broke into his locker ? Cause i dont think it is.
And second, is there a program like shadowkeeper is for BG2, to change things inside. For instance, i will keep playing from rank 6 now and finish the squaregame...and go to chapter 3.Nickamus for instance wont be hostile to me now...is it possible he will be hostile to me in chapter 5 or whenever he summons me, and if he will be, can i change him to non hostile with program like shadowkeeper ?

Anyway, sorry for long post. Its just the fact that i spent lots of time in chapter 2, and dont take me wrong, i like it, but whats to much is to much. And even the thought of making chapter 2 again makes me sick..

I will be happy of any advices.Did any of you break into his locker and finish the game normaly anyway ? Tnx in advance !

Not in any order...

1. Yes, there is a "keeper" program for IWD2. It's called Dalekeeper2 and it was created by the same person who did the other "keeper" programs. Check out the sticky topic entitled "Useful Links" at the top of this forum for a link to find and download Dalekeeper2.

2. Did I read your post correctly? 4500 days? Four THOUSAND, five HUNDRED days???? Are you resting without a healer in your party?

3. Yes, you can break into Nick's locker safely, but you want to do it while he's still asleep the first time you meet him. I don't recall there being anything of earth-shattering, can't-do-without value there, but it's been a while since I've played, so I could be wrong.

4. Sometimes the Battle Squares game's monsters do get teleported into the holding room for the rest of your party. I don't remember exactly why, but I think that it often happens if your character in the BSq room gets out of sight of the Ice Golem. Of course, you need to kill the teleported monster, but if you kill him in holding room while the Golem is out of sight of the holding room, you don't get credit for the kill. What you need to do is hold off on killing that monster while your BSq player moves toward the outside wall of the holding room, thus forcing the Golem to follow him and get within "sight" of the monster, so that when you DO kill it inside the holding room, the Golem will see you do it and give you credit for the kill. Annoying, but necessary.

5. I'm not really sure about some of the other stuff you've mentioned, since I've never experienced some of the situations you've described.

Tnx for your reply.Yes i broke into his locker while he was still sleeping.Yes, i dont have a healer in my party, i have 2 barbarians (1 pure i imported, and 1 that is level 1 fighter, level 10 (or 11) barbarian), and 2 sorcerers.T
The reason is, i played Baldurs gate 2 a lot with accension and tactics, and there it was problem which chars to have inside, they were all very alive and fun. Here characters are dead and i never had much fun playing clerics or druids (exept offcourse elemental princes, thats only fun i ever had with them).

For me its good that they teleport to locker room, glabezu mostly, since i stun him with orb and then slowly finish him off till golem comes there.Anyway, now i will simply check on Nickamus everytime i finish a level of some rank.I just hope i really did hit him with my lance.

Wish me luck :)

As long as you don't kill N it shouldn't break your game. So you can just ignore him when he gets hostile. But I wouldn't break his locker before leaving the Ice Temple, having a hostile mage run after you is a bit annoying. (Maybe a spell like Feeblemind can help temporarily)
