Irenicus is a Pansy!

Now I know I will meet up with him again latter, but I fought him in the Asylum last night and I don't think that any of my characters took more than 10hp of damage. I did not cast any protective spells until AFTER the fight started, and I totally tore him to shreds.
I did free the prisoners from the asylum to help, I called a fire elemental (staff) and I used that horn that summons a berserk warrior.
Is that fight supposed to be that easy, or did I play it just right?
My party: PC-14th level Ranger, Keldorn, Nalia, Aerie, Imoen, Viconia.

I had a even more easy fight (playing in normal mode, this one) with all those prisoners and my no1 party (playing two games in the same time) with me (thief/mage 10/11) Viconia, Korgan, Imoen, Keldorn and Minsc... and it was a piece of cake! Cast pierce magic and ...paff, with 2-3 blows he goes running with his tail under the legs...
Why was that fight so easy (i had a pretty hard time defeating Lavoc, for instance) will the final battle be as easy?

I don't want to spoil anything, but i will only tell that the next time you'll battle Irenicus,he'll be a LOT tougher opponent.

Irenicus is a pushover the first time you slug it out with him most likely to make you feel good. Trust me, he's not that easy the next time.

Each successive time you face Ireniucs, you get less backup and he gets more. In the end, he'll have an equal or superior force to you, and you'll start with a bad formation. Personally, all my mages ended up right in front of his tanks so .....

Not fun when the mages end up front and center. Of course, casting protection from evil prior to placing the final tear and you can still take them with not much difficulty.

Irenicus is no opponent in Asylum but don't be mistaken ...
In Suldanessellar, he has several hundreds(!) of lives, at least 2 Time Stops, etc.
In the Hell, he is rather weak, nevertheless, the 4 demons summoned by him are not.
