Before i went to the drow city i went killing all the mindflayers and everything else on the map. Later when i got the mission to rescue the daughter from the mindflayers i couldn't find her. Solaufein just stood outside and said something like "don't disturb me, i have no time for a chat" What can i do, and where do i find the girl?

I always kill the mind flayers before doing the drow quests and have seen that problem you're having.

Is the exact thing Solaufein said "Solaufein appears to be busy" in red or something and nothing actually said by Solaufein? That's a bug that got fixed in one of the patches.

i just installed the new patch, and for some reason it didn't work =(

Opps, just realized I made a typo in my last post, I met to say I've never seen the problem you're seeing.

Hmm still didn't get fixed with the patch, have you ever played through that scene before with no problems in previous games? Maybe if you reload back a bit farther, perhaps you have a save from before you talked to Solaufein you could reload and work your way back up to that point? Maybe it'll be fixed then for some reason.

If you can't figure out how to fix it then you may have to just forget about the drow quests and kill the silver dragon so you can escape the underdark. The problem with that however is that you'd lose a lot of XP.

hmm, i have not play this part before, but however. Solaufein just stands on the same spot waiting for something to happen. i red something in the journal that he is waiting for somebody to come. Is the daughter some of the slavers trapped in the dungeon? or is the quest to bring the "brain blood" to Solaufein. Maby i forgot do do something?

You're supposed to talk to Solaufein, he tells you to get ready for battle, then like 5 seconds later some mind flayers and umber hulks (and phaere or however you spell her name) dimension door in surrounding you.

Minor Spoiler about the mind flayers:

You're actually not supposed to go into the mind flayer dungeon and kill all the mind flayers and elder brain until later. And even then you can pick between two other dungeons in the underdark for that quest.

ahh i see! the thing i did wrong was to rush into the caves, i reloaded the game some hours back and that did the trick! I waited about 12 seconds and the mind flayers showed up!
