Advise needed

At the end of the Asylum scenario, which is the best route out of the Asylum so that i dun miss any game at all? Take the ship or take the portal so that i can get to play both the suhaugin city and the underdark as well.

If you take the portal, you end up in the Underdark right away.
If you follow Seamon Havarian and take the boat, you'll first end up in Sahuagin City, and from there the only exit is into the Underdark.
So you'll end up in the Underdark no matter what, the only choice is whether or not to skip the underwater city. IMO, it's worth dropping by (also for the butt-kicking to be done there, not to mention the encounter with the single-most funniest Beholder ever!)
