Anybody ever try this mod? It sounds great, and really special for any of us who ever played through these old AD&D modules.
Classic Adventures
It uses the BG2 engine, but is totally separate from the story. I don't think any mods will work with it at all.
I'm really itching to give this a shot, and just want to know if anybody has plyed it before.
TIA

I'd like to see some feedback as well as it looks like a great project. A real trip down Memory Lane. I wonder if they intend doing The Vault of the Drow as well eventually, it'd be fun to kill Lolth again, haven't done that in ages!

This looks great, I wish somebody would try it and report
. I might give it a go if it's long enough, 20+ hours and has decent dialogs. I can't seem to find a readme however

Classic Adventures is a well made mod. Mod is not really a good word though, it is a total conversion. When v.40 comes out there will be even more joinable npc's. The ones in .39 are very well made and have some good dialogues. The only thing I didnt like about it is that its pretty linear, but thats a minor issue. Its a good change from the BG series.

P&P Dungeons and Dragons modules had to be pretty linear by necessity, as they were designed to be run by humans not computers. We HB's are capable of multi tasking, but we're not too good at it on the whole.
For us 'oldies' it'll be a nostalgia trip as much as anything. It's a shame they can't use 1st edition rules, then you youngsters would realise that darn near everything in BG is 'cheese'!

I know what your talking about, I started playing D&D when I was 9 in 1978. Every fighter had 18/00 STR and 18 CON and DM's had very little to no imagination, every fight left powerful magical equipment. Things got alot better
as we got older and the DM started to develop an imagination and could actually read the modules and understand them. Rules were actually implemented and not made up as we went.
