I was wondering... who currently has the rights to make future Vampire video games? Do you guys think we'll ever see a Requiem PC RPG?

I'd say White Wolf. However, I can imagine how their ventures into CRPG licensing hasn't been.. what's the word I'm looking for.. rewarding enough to reconsider it again in the near future. There's that game that failed to appeal to the masses, the game that never made it past the drawing board and that game that was assembled by a company that was also busy being torn apart by Activision. Unlucky to say the least.

erm, that's not how it works really. That's like saying wizards of the coast will make the next dungeons and dragons game or george lucas will make the next KoTOR game. Most of the time it's merely for licensing, White wolf will just give permission to someone else to make it, as a pen and paper company wouldn't hire a computer game designer, that doesn't make sense.

In any case, I doubt there will be another vampire game. It's a great game and all, but it didn't pull enough sales to keep Troika around IIRC. And that was Troika's only game. So I doubt another company would risk something like that, especially considering vampire and world of darkness in general isn't that much of an action game or fighting game (and that's really what people want these days).

But I could be wrong. But I do know that if it did happen, white wolf wouldn't make the game because white wolf doesn't make computer games. They just provide the rules and licensing and stuff. If it would be made, i would expect Obsidian to take the challenge, that type of game would be perfect for them. Story heavy light action RPG.

I realize that, but they'll have to want to give any licence a green light first. They have to agree on how letting a company use their rulesets and their storyboards would be good publicity for themselves too. Moreover, if I take a look at White Wolf's current endeavours.. well they're writing stories for their PNP version of World of Warcraft. That's unrelated to their own licensing practices, true, but it shows an interest in CRPG success stories. There haven't been many Vampire / Changeling / Werewolf / Mage ones. If any at all.
