Glitch: Stuck in Watcher's Keep!

To get out of the 3rd level, it requires three gems to be set in a scepter. I worked my way all the way to the cambion and only wound up with one gem. I checked the walkthrough, and the gems were supposed to be on the fiend leaders (both of whom attacked me on sight, since I'm a paladin). But somehow, I failed to pick up the gem from the first demon, and going back to the room in which I killed him, I can't find it. I searched every room with the Tab key, and can't find another gem. The only save point I have before this is way back in Shadows of Amn (silly of me, I know) and I'd rather not have to go through Saradush and all that again. Can anyone help me? I even tryed going through the Deck with the cambion and although *he* escaped, I only got two gems and a useless scepter.

Have you tried using shadowkeeper to add the items to your inventory?

Nope, because I've never "cheated" before. I'd much rather do that than go through everything again, though, so how exactly does Shadowkeeper work?
EDIT: I checked the "all CLUA Commands" thread and couldn't find the gem...is there a simple "duplicate item" cmmand that I'm missing?

If you search on google for shadowkeeper you will find a program called shadowkeeper 2, if you download it the use it you can open your saved game and use it to add an item to your inventory from a list of all the items in the game. It can be used to cheat, such as to change stats, but its also useful when you encounter glitches like this or if you just want to check romance variables.

Thank you! I'll give that a try now.
I wonder how often this glitch has come up. Honestly, if I hadn't invested so much time into this particular game I might have just thrown up my hands.

I had that problem - I allowed myself to get snogged by the Dryad and because I had the amulet, I didn't get drained. what I did get, was straight to cambion without the wherewithall to get out. I had to re-trace my way all through the maze - it took a couple of hours, checking rooms, re-checking routes etc - eventually I managed to get back to the beginning and found that I had missed a room - I think it was the one with the dead-children wraiths that sound unnerving - it may be that you have done something similar - missed an encounter or two - which is possible. the cambion only wants to borrow your entry portal stone, not a sceptre gem.
also, some of the treaure piles are not that obvious and some creatures go invisible and hide in the corner. I had a demon-type creature do that and then leap out when I went back in the room - there are so many of such creatures that you may have missed one. try sleeping in rooms to check.

Believe me, I went through every room there two, even three times. I also missed the "beating heart" of the first demon, although I'm sure I killed it. Either he was missing items altogether, or I missed the pile in the first place and for some reason it did not remain when I went back and searched later. I didn't accept the sucubus' kiss. The only room I missed the first time was the imps/wild magic room that branches off the compass room, which I took care of subsequently.
Interestingly enough, when I used Shadowkeeper to add one scepter gem, I could not assemble the sceper. I even tried dropping the gems I had, adding the first two gems from Shadowkeeper, and seeing if they would assemble a scepter with the third gem from the cambion; this was unsuccessful. Only by adding the completed Scepter of Radiance to my inventory with Shadowkeeper (which altered my existing scepter, rather than creaing a whole new one) could I get out of there.

mmm
perhaps a better system for preventing the loss of quest items should have been developed - one thing that has narked me, is that the items to assemble shiny ones don't auto-port to ToB after SoA.
I forgot one or two things that were parts of items and missed out.
I did the pick-pocket trick on the genie to keep Blackrazor, but because none of my party specialised in long-swords it is nowhere near as powerful as it should be. same with the Silver Sword and the Axe of unyielding - without a specialist, their abilities get wasted.
and don't get me started on Paladin-only weapons...
I have had to re-start WK levels due to oversights myself - one time I lost a sceptre in the chroma-demon level - really annoying after all the work I'd done.
if you do WK in stages - as I sometimes do - it is worth putting the quest items from there all in one place for storage and going back to re-equip for it before carrying on. I usually take Keldorn along for some of the ride.
