Is it in any way (through a patch or ToB or something) to dual class a monk into a mage.
This would be amazing, the mage's restrictions are made completely obsolete by the Monk, not to mention the potential both classes have.

I believe that the program Shadow Keeper could help you there. I'm not sure were you can get it or exactly how to operate it so some one else have to answer those questions.

However I would't recommend a Monk/Mage dual-class since both mage and Monks need to gain as many levels as possible to be powerfull. If you use and XP cap remover and Shadow Keeper you could probably create a Monk/Sorcerer multi-class. That would be a horribly powerful solo-hero, since both of the classes levels could be maxed. If you installed the mod that gives the Monk an all new set of Hight Level Abilities you would really have a blast. Yeye, got off-topic there :P

Unfortunately the answer's no, you can only combine classes that exist that you can multi-class in as a demi-human.

Just about the most powerful character I ever saw in P and P D&D was a Monk/Mage (18th level Monk, which I recall was the maximum level in those days), he could seriously kick ass. He'd reached about 28th level Mage when we buried him.

His player made the fatal mistake of blowing his magic resistance, then rolled a 1 on the saving throw, the 00 on system shock survival. As the old saying goes 'There aint ever a horse which couldn't be rode, nor ever a rider that couldn't be throwed'.
