Mods trouble - Please help!

I resently made a new BG game, playing a Monk and I have these mods installed:

PATCHES:
Official Bioware Patch
Baldurdash Fixpack
Baldurdash Gametext
Ease of Use mod
G3 Tweaks
G3 Oversight

QUESTS:
G3 Anniversary Mod
Unfinished Business
Quest Pack V2
Ascension

NPC Related:
Banter Pack

And for some reason the game seems to bugg. Whenever I am approached by characters from any of the quest-mods something goes wrong with their text-lines. Instead of their normal statements and such they say completely wrong things and the entire text box gets pretty messed up. For example, when I entered the Copper Coronet some one was supposed to say something, but instead quoted Jaheira's biography. The text messages seems to have been mixed up and they are completely wrong. Also some item discriptions got bugged in the same manner.

I have installed exactly the same mods as a user on the sticky-thread about mods, it worked for him, why not for me? Have I installed them in the wrong order. Thanks in advance. ^_^

What was the order of installation? That's important.

Weel, I'm not 100% sure of the order of installation, didn't think that it was very importat, but ofcourse it was.

But I'm 88% sure that I did it in this order

1. Official Bioware Patch
2. Baldurdash Fixpack
3. Baldurdash Gametext
4. Ease of Use mod
5. G3 Oversight
6. G3 Anniversary Mod
7. Unfinished Business
8. Quest Pack V2
9. Ascension
10. Banter Pack
11. G3 Tweaks (it told me in the installation to install it last, so I did)

At first I could't even run the game but that didn't have anything to do with the mods (I know what it was). Anyway I uninstalled the game then re-installed it into the same folder, and then I re-installed all the mods (it said that they were already installed, but since I had re-installed the game I thought that it would also be best to re-install the mods. I think I should just completely uninstall all the game files and all the mod files and then re-install it in the correct order. Wich is? :P

It looks like your Dialog.tlk file got messed up. Did you install the right Baldurdash? There is one for SoA only and ToB. I don't know about this Gametext mod, never used it myself. It may be the one causing the corruption. I have Baldurdash ToB (I have ToB installed) and some other mods and never had any problems.

I installed the ToB Baldurdash patch. I remember now, that one of the mods I installed (don't remember which one though) contained a Dialog.tlk file and since I thought it was ok I copied it ino my folder replacing the old file.

I'm not familiar with the Baldurdash Gametext mod, and I've never used Ascension. The others are pretty compatible, and I've used most of them before without any problems. Try uninstalling the Gametext mod.

Baldurdash Gametext Update is a pretty well known mod. It basically fixes and amends a lot of Gametext that was incorrect (grammar, spelling etc). It's almost as old as the Baldurdash Fixpack.

What usually causes this type of problem is if you have had mods installed and then reinstalled them on top in a different order. This can happen if you deleted the weidu.log file which records which mods you have installed using weidu and in which order.

If you are reinstalling BG2 best to make sure that you delete the weidu.log before starting to install mods a second time around and then after you install your mods do not delete weidu.log unless you are again planning to reinstall BG2.

Yeah I reinstalled everything and installed it in the correct order and such, and now it works! :D

However I did not install the Ascension Mod cause it was the one that wanted to replace my Dialoge.tlk file, that may have been the source of the bugs. Is Ascension supposed to do this? I'm planning on making an extra copy of my Dialoge.tlk file and then try installing Ascension to see what happnends. Thanks a lot for all the answeres.

Which version of Ascension do you have? A really old version might overwrite your dialog.tlk but the versions that are around currently are all installed via weidu and should not overwrite your tlk file.

The proper weidu version can be found here: Ascension/WeiDU
