Just finished the underdark and I'm wondering since I'm near the end of the game, will I be using the chapel key for anything?

Well only if you haven't used it yet in Windspear Hills.

The door the Chapel Key existed for, did not make the final game. It has no use.

Quitch I don't want to contradict you, but I believe that the infamous "chapel key" which is so often the subject of discussion is simply the key to the next door in the dungeon - the door behind which you meet lady that wants you to loot the tomb for her. Since this door is easily opened by lockpick, you don't notice that the key in fact opens it.

My last trip through the windspear hills I tested this out: When I first entered the room with the vampires I went and checked the door - it was locked. I cleared the vampires and mummies, then the room with the shadows, obtaining the chapel key. When I went back to the door and clicked on it, it opened. This convinced me that the "chapel key enigma" solution is as I have outlined above.

The Chapel key is for the door that opens the way to the entire left side of the dungeon. The one right before talking to Samia. It's important, but after you've already finished the quest, there's no other need for it.

pretty much....what I have read is that the building where you get the celestial fury was originally supposed to be part of a quest - same as the twisted rune. In the "rescuing Nalia" quest that can happen if she is in your party, one of the documents you obtain mentions slavers in the temple district, but I think that there was supposed to be some quest that was to link the slavers at the copper coronet, the guarded compound, and maybe leading to the twisted rune eventually. this was left out of the game for business/time/budget reasons. Well that's what I heard anyway.

There also seems to be some sort of connection between the sewer Mind Flayers, the Jyevvtes (sp?) estate, and Jan Jansen's NPC quest.

During his quest, you are told to go to the Jyevvtes estate, who in turn, tell you to go to the sewers to seek out someone called The Hidden. And you find a note in the Mind Flayer area written by The Hidden. I was never find anymore connections beyond that, maybe it was never completed.

OK JAKER, I guess I've just always picked it up before going to that door. My bad.
