Learned to many spells?

I had no idea you could do this, so I just wrote in all the spells I found. But now I have found some nice lvl 6 spells that I really want, but when I try to write them it says that

"You have learned the maximum
number of spells of that level
allowed by your intelligence."

Is there no way to undo this? Remove spells from my spellbook? Or do I have to found some place to buy alot of scrolls with this spell, because that would cost a fortune!

Help please!

Yep, your intelligence determines the number of spells you can learn per level. Your options are to permanently raise your intelligence score or to erase some spells of the level the new spell is.

Do you have ToB installed? Because a feature was added through it that allows you to right-click a spell, then click an Erase button to remove it.

easy solution, genius!

take a potion of genius or the blue potion - your INT goes up and you can learn the spell - whenever I have that message, I think about whether I will be likely to collect any more soon and then take the potion, learn the spell and when the potion wears off, the spell is still in the book.

obviously the learn erase learn xp farming is not a way to use up scrolls unless you have ToB installed.

So if I install ToB I can remove spells from my spellbook, otherwise I can not?

I believe that is so - the INT boost solves the problem though - doesn't it?

Right. That's the only way you can do it.

I guess so but after a while that has to stop working too.

Ill go and get ToB and then I will be happy again. I hear you can get quivers in ToB too?

You can buy a container that holds all manner of arrows/bolts/darts, another for potions, and a third--for scrolls, I think. Very easy to acquire once it's installed, and these are added to a new area that shows up on the SoA map (despite coming with the ToB package).

If I install ToB will I be in a whole new world or do I have to restart? Or will there just be some minor extra stuff here and there?

When you install ToB you can choose to play Shadows of Amn or Throne of Bhaal. If you choose the former then there is one extra area (Watcher's Keep) which is basically a place to test yourself against all sorts of puzzles and enemies, while collecting some nice items in the process. Once you finish SoA, you will automatically begin ToB as it continues the story from the end of SoA.

You don't need to restart.

OK great thanks everyone. I bought and installed ToB now. It seems good so far. But Ive noticed some irritating differences...

When I press Tab to see the HP of my party members I see all the doors and chests and stuff like that in glowing blue or pink. As if I held my mouse over them, I guess its kind of usefull but it feels like cheating. Is this suppose to be like this for ToB or is it because I have CluaConsole cheat on?

Also my Cloak of Mirroring/Cloak of Reflection suddenly gives me an orb of light around me. Before it was just a little aura under my feet. Can you turn it off or something?

One more thing, where do I get quivers and such? I looked through shops but couldnt find any.

Thank you all for the help it was really helpful.

This is a feature added with ToB, because quite a few players complained about the inability to see treasure left on dead bodies. Especially when said bodies were in shaded areas. Doors, too, had a way of sometimes getting overlooked.

There's a mod for that. You might want to consider the G3 BG2 Tweak Pack, which I think I mentioned before. One of its options turns that glow off, if I recall correctly.

You'll notice a new area accessible outside Baldur's Gate. It's a tower of sorts, and there are a few people hanging around the entrance. One of them is a merchant who has some interesting objects for sale.

Thank you that was really helpful. Where can I get this G3 BG2 Tweak Pack though? And I have a Mac, so maybe it wont work.

Anyway thanks again for all the help, all of you. I have now finally removed the useless magics from my spellbook, and I guess the thingy that shows doors and such is kind of usefull.

I think I've mentioned the Pocket Plane Group before, as an excellent source for mods. I'd suggest starting here for the top of the relevant mod tree, while one of the menu branches takes you here to the G3 BG2 Tweak Pack. Download it from one of the mirrors on the left. It might be a good idea to keep the G3 screen up when you load the mod, since the various sections of that screen can be expanded, and explain in detail what every tweak means. The mod itself doesn't have those explanations, just questions asking what you want to do. :)
