Valens mistress and trademeet? Missed quests?

Hi, I was wondering if there is some way to remove quests that you missed out on.

For example the "meet with Valens mistress" quest, I didnt meet her, but the quest is still in my questbook, so when I scroll through the quests I have done all that I have until Chapter 6 but that one still appears. Same with the "Kill the druids" quest you got from the halfing in Trademeet. I didnt kill them, but I still have his poison, and he told me to meet him in the bar but I cant find him.

It is really annoying having to see those everytime you scroll through the quests.

I cant meet with Valens mistress anymore because I have already killed her, and I cant seem to find the halfling.

Help please!

I think you're not getting a response because nobody knows for sure. :) I've not seen any indication of a mod that lets you do this, or a console command, but I could be mistaken. You might try posting about it up in the Pocket Plane Group forum, since they have some people very familiar with the mechanics of the game. The same goes for the Gibberings Three.

You are getting the bug for one of the following reasons;

A) You finished the quest another way then the Journal entry said, For example you had evil members in the party/evil protagonist, you got the poison (for the evil method) but instead went to kill Faldorn (good method) and the quest was finished the good way.

B) Quests like meeting Valen's mistress are time sensitive, you're supposed to go within a few days you probably took longer. you potentially missed something serious here (depending on your aligment)..... spoiler ahead..... highlight to read Had you gone to meet Valen's mistress you would have had the opportunity to work for Bodhi, The quests would have givin you similar items and exp but in a more bloody manner consistent with an evil protagonist

C) Plain bugs, happened to me with Firkraag, I rescued the child and then came back to finish him but I still got the message that I stilll need to kill him even though I was already wielding Carsomyr

The entries are there to stay unfortunatly, nothing you can do. G3 and pocket plane are sites where you can download mods, type them into google and check out what mods they offer. Most are well balanced and enchance gameplay without unbalancing it

If you have not already, Install the latest patch and baldurdash fixpack

This is the main site for the PPG. You can use it to find tons of mods, and their forum, both from the left side menu. Here's the Gibberlings Three main website link, with sub-links above. :)

What exactly is a Mod?

A mod is short for a modification, and when used as such is often player-made. The tools provided by the developers allow these, and they are legal, as long as money doesn't exchange hands in providing them to players. The classic example of a modded game is Morrowind, which can support upwards of 200 mods or more at one time on a single game, with a very large modding community, and more than 6000 mods currently available.

BG2's modding community is much smaller, and has mostly focused on group efforts. There are currently 4 or 5 major modding groups out there, who have done everything from bugfixes to new party NPCs, to additional quests, to major efforts that allow BG1 to be played using the superior BG2 engine.

To play a mod, you usually run its setup executable on your main BG2 directory; it then installs properly, and in some cases asks you questions about which options you want to have active in your game.

I've tried a number of mods by several groups over the years--mostly the Pocket Plane Group, the Gibberlings Three, and the Chosen of Mystra. I applaud their efforts, wish that Bioware today showed the same creativity, and recommend them highly. :)
