General Crafting Question (Armor)

Hi all!
So right now I decided on working on crafting, and so have read through a lot of posts about it and also a few crafting guides. I do have one question that I could not find an answer for, however. When crafting armor, it is said that an individual piece can hold up to 3 separate enchantments (or 2 if using a special metal ingot other than mithril). When defining 'armor', does this mean only the piece of gear that you wear in the chest slot, or can, for instance, a regular 'spiked helmet' or 'paladin's helm' be placed into the workbench and have , say, acid resistance added to it. If not, then that would mean that the only head slot items that can be created are the +int ones? The main reason I ask this is becuase I play a level 9 duelest/level 8 ranger and have yet to find a single decent item to equip in this slot. Thanks in advance for any help anyone is able to offer!!

I haven't tested this, but as far as I know only the armor for the chest and maybe shield slot can be made with the 3 enchantments. The other armor types, as you have noticed, must be made all at once with leather, ingot, etc. as well as the gem and essences. So yeah, to answer your question, the only item you can craft for headgear are the INT circlets.

Hey Cyrinn,

I have been testing this and much to my frustration there are only three items that I have found that you can give three enchantments to. Those three are Weapons, Armor (body) and Shields. I'm in the closing part of the game in Act 3 and was hoping to beef up my parties protection against the undead, evil, chaotic, magic damage they are about to face.

I had read somewhere that everything could have up to three enchantments placed on the item. I even read that some people had found a way to do more but am not sure if that was part of the toolkit or they had found a way around the limitations. I have had no luck no matter how I meld the recipes and have two casters casting the needed spells. I just can't seem to make a Divine Cloak of Anti-Chaotic Elemental and Magic Resistance.

I'm now going to work on Armor and Shields and maybe with a +5 to Natural Armor and all saves.

I have enjoyed the game but it was too short so I'm dragging on finishing it and playing around with crafting for the end parts.
