Guilds relation with shops

Hi! My questions are about guild upgrades in shops:

1. Does getting tier 3 class in celestial order make them sell you new crystals? (if so, what are they?)

2. Does getting tier 3 class in mage guild make them sell you new spells? (if so, what are they?)

3. If I go Sisterhood in tier 2 and 3 class, will I get upgrades in mage guild shops or any other?

4. Does going in Eastern guild classes only upgrade shops in the house of tiger/dragon?

5. In what guild Grymlok is related to? Is there a way to upgrade his shop?

Though I don't know this for sure - beyond your initiation in a guild, I don't think that spells are restricted based on your tier.. rather on your character level.

i.e. a level 7 character with only 1 tier in Arcane (mage character only) should have access to level 6 spells in both Arcane AND Celestial guild shops.

IF however you never join the Arcane guild then I think I remember hearing that some of the spells specific to that guild were not available, this was apparently NOT the case with Celestial spells. Additionally, this certainly wouldn't effect either Nether Katal's or Rune based spell/stones - neither of which have a guild to speak of.

i.e. a level 7 character with only 1 tier in Celestial (Adept character only) will likely have access to fewer level 6 spells in Arcane. (..again though, this is something I haven't personally tested.)

That should answer most of your questions.

Just to elaborate on the previous reply. :)

1.) Once you are a member (first tier), all spells available to guild members are available to you. However, some spells in both the Celestial and Arcane guilds are only available to members of those guilds. (As far as I remember blast nova, firenova, iceshards for arcane and summon blessed spirit and summon angelic avenger for celestial. There are probably a few more, depending on what version of the game you are playing).

2.) same as number one.

3.) The Sisterhood is it's own guild and is not affiliated with the other guilds. What other guild shops have for sale is nothing to do with them. In fact Sister Dhara and Elvithra will sell nether kataals to anybody, simply asking them about nether spells or "herbs and powders" or some such thing will automatically "upgrade" what they have for sale. This would take place upon your first visit to either the apothecary in Fargrove or Arindale.

4.) Yes

5.) Grymlock isn't associated with any guild that I have ever heard about. He sells mostly rune magic items with a few arcane magic spells ( iceball, icenova). He would probably sell those special arcane spells to arcane guild members, but he definately sells rune spells to anybody regardless of guild affiliation. He also sells the Druid armor (light armor) to anybody, of which the only item that I ever bother with is the Warder's belt, due to a little extra protection that it has towards fire, ice and magic.

Scottg...thank you for your answer but It has nothing to do with levels

kathycf...thank you for your info

But do tiers 3 have effect on the quality of spells/items in shops? I don't want to test this the hard way making many chars to tier 3...

From what I know, when I get tier 2 in a guild, they upgrade their shop with new items and spells. Does this happen for tier 3 in some guilds?

For example an adept/mage/paladin/enchantress/warwitch do get a good selection of celestial spells but only the basic arcane spells. A huge boost in skills at the cost of a poor selection of spells?

There is a limited amount of spells in the game to start out with...it seems like more when you read information about the game, but the reality is that many spells are broken. I have not noticed a specific change in shop inventories after obtaining 3rd tier classes...and these are the ones I have had.

Warwitch
Deathlord
Rangerlord
Stargazer
Shaolei Master
Wizard

It seems once you get your second tier classes that is pretty much it, selection wise. It might be helpful for me to know if you are looking for a specific item...

I would also wonder if the warwitch character you are describing is more skilled at celestial magic rather than arcane magic. Try advancing her a few levels in arcane, that should not be too costly given her learning bonuses. You could go kill some moonbeasts, on hard they are worth about 25,000 points apiece. Yes, actually I sometimes have noticed selection being based on skill level--but again not always. *shrug* :/

But again, keep in mind some of the spells (such as flamethrower and cataclysm) only come out of chests--and many spells will not be available at all, due to game bugs.

Are you sure it has nothing to do with levels? Try looking at Kathy's recent attachment to my "Weapons" thread. You'll note that Aliester has several different groupings and only one mentioned "guild".

Note that I just went through with a character adept/mage/monk/valkyrie/Shaolei Master.

With the exception of regeneration, I had *ALL* of the *working* celestial spells.

As I found out, its actually better with Arcane - I had *ALL* the spells that worked. As Kathy mentioned I DID need to obtain Catyclism and Flamethrower else where (..as does everyone else). Most of my ice spells were from Grymlock (exception being ice shards from Rianne). Now Aliester MAY offer those same ice spells IF you take a 2nd tier in the mage guild, but who cares? Unless of course you are jonesing for those ices spells before access to the forbidden lands.

Now you could well be correct that it happens when you obtain a 2nd tier and/or a 3rd tier.. but IF thats a trigger then I'm almost positive that it doesn't matter what the tier class is.
