Soul Ring (MQ Spoiler)

Ok...I'm getting ready to take on Dagoth Ur. I checked on the list of things I need before I go there and saw that I needed a "Soul Ring". I don't have a clue what that is and searching through past threads and the walkthrough hasn't produced anything (maybe I'm not searching correctly? If so, let me know!). Any ideas on where it is and why I need it?
BTW, I'm on a PC. Thanks!

Yep, that's all you need. If you recall in the walkthrough, it mentions some items that would be "useful" for the battle, but not needed.

It says under number 5 where to find the ring if you want it. I found the ring to be useful in my game as it is pretty powerful. And that dungeon was fairly easy to complete with the right strategy.

After a series of low-level locked and unlocked gates, you'll face the Ash Vamp. Destroy him/it for his/its very powerful Soul Ring.

Thought that was in the walkthrough. You must have not been looking in the right place.
