Online play

Thanks for the reply.
I was thinkin this. Each player would play with one character. This would be any character you wish to use, no matter the level. I'm hoping for weekly play. You should let me know what your available days to play would be. I'm mostly available for play sunday, monday and tuesday nights. This would be an unmoded game. The level of difficulty we can determine later. I will probably be the one hosting this game.

I don't know where to find any modes for this game. You should be able to find some info for that here on this site.

If you are planning on using mods, you must make sure that everyone uses the same mods installed in the same order (they must have an identical WEIDU log). Also direct connection might not always work (or it will with lots of crashes especially if the other players are on the other parts of the world) so is better to use a program that creates a virtual LAN, like Hamacchi for example. I played the game several times in MP, the last time about 4 months ago with 3 other people each using 2 characters (one male and one female for variation).

Karcias?

As I said before this will be an unmoded game. I'm hoping this will clear up any glitch or connection problem. Anyone here interested let me know by private message here at Gamebanshee.

Playing with noobs in MP, can be very fun. Especially since you get to teach them various tricks. :D
But you better post the location, because you wouldn't want to play in the middle of the night when other people are in the middle of the day.

Location?

Well for starters are you fellas from the USA? I am from west central Wisconsin. I'm using Gamebanshee to get in touch with people who want try something new on this game. Do you fellas have a messenger you use often (MSN, yahoo!) that we could use to collaborate on this venture?
I have a sorceror/monk around 9 or 10 lvl I could use.
With us three it could be fun to try for starters.
I've got an 18 lvl sorceror or a Druid that are quite powerful.
I have characters of many races and classes. Plus many saves giving me access to several different lvls of advancement.

As far as contacting me? there is message service that gamebanshee has we could use to get in touch with each other.

No, no. The idea is to start with characters of level 1, not with characters experienced and with tons of items. I'm from Romania, so you see that's a problem with the timeline.

Drake

Yes I understand what you mean by time zones.
If you want to play a lvl one character than please do so. It will bring our party lvl down and you shall lvl up fast.
What would you like to play as?
I've been itchin' to try my drow sorceror/monk!

There is one reason to play with some of the features from Easy of Use mod on. For example, in the battle arena from the Ice temple, it can be very frustrating in MP, because one player fights in the arena (the best tank most likely) while the other sit a watch hoping he's going to win. Wit EoU you can simply bypass that fight and get directly the Xp and loot. OK, not very correct as far as the game goes, but is good in MP.
But if one starts as level 1 while others start with higher levels, the party will gain XP only from quests. In IWD2 there's little to no XP to be gained from enemies of lower levels.

Effective Party Level.

Your effective party level will certainly adjust the amount of XP you'll receive from monsters. Right now I'm playing a six person party I beat the game with, I believe insane is the difficulty setting for this tour. This was a 16th epl when I started and they are now 19th and I've yet to gain XP from monsters. However, I did receive some xp for killing crystaline golems and iron golems. Hell I just killed the Gaurdian dragon and I didn't get any xp for that. You will always get the quest xp though. I'm playing it so I can have fun with the spells and abilities. Besides you may need help with the Bsquares from your teammates. I'd rather have party members that won't die so easily so we won't have to reload or resurrect our party members so much. Come on you can't tell me that playing a 19th lvl druid with uber shapeshifting wouldn't be fun to play with. I know I'd have fun with that just by myself or maybe one or two other powerful teammates. I think a rogue and a sorceror would add well. You must remember each person will only be playing one character for this venture. Your character should compliment the party, make it stronger.

Players

I would like to make new characters and we can set a date where we would play, everytime that date comes unless one of us has an inconvenience of some sort, we can play with either 2-4-6 players. Just reply here if you want anything else it would be really fun.

Seeing as duplicate threads can slow the site down, and we don't really need them, I am merging these two.

Carry on :)

EDIT

Incidentally,
I have made this a sticky so that it is easy to find for anyone looking to create multi-player games, and I have adjusted the title accordingly.
