I just got started playing the werewolf. I closed for the evening, and when I tried to reload the next day, where I left off, the file will not open.
A screen comes up saying
“A1_6_Addhiranirr Informant”
Continue running exccutable?
Yes or No

When I press yes the file will not open, no matter now many times I press yes. When I press No the games close and I’m back to the desktop.

I also, tried to open another file, but it will not open.

Can you help me?

Do you have any mods installed?

Do you have the Bloodmoon patch installed?

Your installation should go in the following order:

Morrowind
Tribunal
Bloodmoon
Bloodmoon patch

I did not install the patch. I though it said that you do not need a patch if you have all three CD's. I think it says this where the patch is located.
Did I miss understand? Do I need a patch?

Yes, you do need the patch that DW mentioned in the previous reply. :)

OK. I did the patch, and it did not work. So, I uninstall and re-stall, and did the patch by saving my old files. Still the game is acting up. At time I can load but then it will not let me save by crashing.

Is there anyway I can save this game, and get back to playing?

I don't recall seeing an answer to this pertinent question.

It should say more than that. All you have there is a journal entry ID. Are you on the vivec informant part of the main quest?

Thats what it says when I load. If I'm luckly, I get into the game, but when I save, which I did not write it down, a screen comes up, saysing something about exccutable? Ofcours, I'm kicked off the game and I'm back on my desk top. I says something about yes or no. Yes, will done nothing. No, will close the game.

As for loading problem, that is what it says. I wrote in down. I just became a werewolf. I also when back before that, and still I have the same problem.

Could it be that my save files have a bug in them?

Have your used either TEStool or Wyremash to check for conflicts?
Running any mods? if so which ones?
You might try checking out some of the links listed in the yellow pages thread or mods threads...They're the top 2 threads in the Morrowind section.

I don't know what TESSTOOL, or Wyremash or even mods are. Still that dose not mean that I haven't done one of them. I've could have without knowning prehaps. I've been all over the place with I first started the game looking of answers.

At least you pointed me into the right direction. If all else fails, I'm thinking of starting all over with a clean data base and no saved files. That might solve the problem. It will be hard, since I've come a long ways in the game.

That should do it...just recently re-installed myself. had a nephew mess up my old files  ....cleaned out all out files and started new....patched...then added a few mods I had not tried before.
Highly recommend TES tool....it checks for conflicts if any mods are installed after the basic game is installed...there's a link for it in the threads somewhere.

For info on mods, check the sticky threads. They're "modifications" made by players to the basic game--anything from small tweaks to the magic system, to houses for players complete with teleport rings, to major quests with entirely new towns. And if you have the hardware that can handle them, you can play upwards of 200 or more at a single time.

Typically, file load problems may arise when mods aren't installed correctly, which is why we asked.
