You know you are sick when...

Have you ever noticed how certain things are real triggers in getting you to understand that you aren't well, no matter how much you try to deny the fact? :D

As is wont to happen throughout the school year, our "little vector" (as we like to call him) brought home yet another nasty bug... and of course... I got it
Now beyond the fact that my head is throbbing, my throat is extremely sore and one of my lymph nodes is uncomfortably swollen... my first real clue was this morning when the thought of coffee turned my stomach over. Now.. I tend to be a coffee addict..normally when I wake up my first move is to stumble to the coffee pot. I had peppermint tea instead...
Then.. today, I fell asleep on the couch. I realise this isn't unusual for many people, but I *never* sleep during the day, it simply doesn't happen.
So now I really know I'm not in optimal shape... *sigh*

OK, anyone else find that certain normal routines becoming disrupted in some way is a good confirmation of sickness?

I find behavior like growling at people is my first sign of illness. I have ridiculously robust health and I need to take this into account. What most people stay home in bed for I'll come to work with and have a 'normal' day. Except for the occassional growl :D - Curdis !

I guess the napping. I never nap either, and when I fall asleep during the day that is a pretty good indicator something is up. I tend to get very anxious as well, yet I stuff that down instead of acknowledging it. When the dog barks and I startle so much as to spill water all over myself as I did today...well that tells me my nerves are a bit fried.

Hope you recover soon, Dragon Wench. :)

I know I'm really sick when I stay home from school and sleep all day instead of playing Morrowind or browsing GB. :D

I know I'm really getting sick when I get the following:
- Sore, warm, slimey feeling at the end of my nasal cavity (where it meets my throat)
- Feeling like I might vomit at any moment (though that's more of a sign to me that I ate a bit too much :o ).
- Feeling hazy, almost dizzy or like I'm in a thick mental fog.
- Considerate chest congestion, making my breathing shallow.
- When my taste is rather warped, in that case, food tasting more bland that usual.
- My nasal passage has a residual sensation like propane or kerosene, as had happened a few weeks ago when I was sick.

i know im "i should be in the hospital sick" when i call in sick to work(im money happy, and have missed 2 days of work in 2 years, once to deal with a harassment thing with the police, another because i was drunk at 3am, and supposed to work at 7 and i was 2 hours out of town lol) so yea, unless i cant get out of bed, i wont go to work, if i can make it as far as the bathroom, another 30 minutes to work is possible...thats how i figure out my sickness
