Hey all, Iv tried other forums but no ones of anyhelp. I hope this one proves differnt. heres my problem.

vampire caused an Access Violation (0xc0000005)
in module msvcrt.dll at 001b:77c47fd4.

Iv done a little bit of research. Iv found out that the .dll is c++... thing. My game is also patch to 1.2 official btw. and I read some release notes saying that the patch would fix crash's with c++ due to somthing in the python folder. as you can see, this clearly has not been fixed. besides that Iv tried everything, from replacing the .dll with a new one. to completely removing it. The .dll is located in the C://windows/system32 folder. These crash's are random. I can never really be sure when this is going to happen. I am sure of one thing though; when it happens. It occurs when I am switching area's, when the loading screen comes up. get to about 60-80% then crash's. I get the window saying "blah blah blah has encounterd a error and needs to shut down. would you like to send a error report?". I also on chance somtimes get it when I use the quicksave button. (F9). Can someone please give me some information of any kind that might help me solve this problem.

regards.

This is an access denied error, and if memory serves, there is already a thread on it somewhere, but quite awhile ago. Short version: Have you been listening to the sound files in Windows Media Player?

If the answer is yes, then open WMP, go to Library, and delete all references to VTMB sound files. Start VTMB again, and you should be golden.

Apologies, but I forget who first solved that one.

Is it a legal copy of the game? There could be a problem with the files that are downloaded.

I wasn't accusing you of piracy, its just that if you downloaded it legally and it is a problem with a file that is downloaded then you should either be able to download it again or get support from the site used to purchase and download the game.

Well sadly, d2d doesnt offer any kind of forum support. as to why is beyond me. their customer service is that of the stone age. so that website is of no use to me besides purchasing games. I know the site is reliable on its games, cause I have purchased more then atleast 4 games from that website and this is the only one I have problems with.

EDIT: did this to avoid double posting.

Is there a way to remove the official patch from my computer?
