I bought a 500 dollar ticket to fight the minotaur...beat him..but the gate won't go up so i can leave the arena...do i have to start the game all over again for the 3rd time?

If you saved, and then reloaded in the arena then unfortunately that's a known bug, it's possible you might be able to get out of it by using one of the game editors (see DL Forum sticky). Otherwise I'm afraid you'll probably have to go back to a save before entering the arena.
