I am pretty sure STR bonuses/penalties apply with hurled weapons, but what about Power Attack?

I think i've found the answer you're looking for.

Icewind Dale 2 Instruction Manual Pg. 41 Under 'Improving the Odds in Combat':

Aside from the STR bonus to attack and damage caused, this modifier is always applied to melee and hurled missile weapons (Daggers, darts, axes, war hammers) attacks.

The DEX modifier applies to attacks with missile weapons. Only affecting the bonus to hit and not the damage caused.

Therefore I believe the bonus to hit and damage would apply.

Pg. 71 under Power Attack

Subtract X from your attack rolls and add it to your melee damage. X must be no more than your base attack bonus. The penalty on attacks and damage apply until your next action.

In the first one, you're telling me STR damage applies to hurled weapons, in the second, you're saying that Power Attack is melee only.

Am I reading this correctly?

I don't think PA works with thrown weapons, but feel free to test it out and report back to us.
