What do you think is the worst Main Character possible? And I do´n´t mean put 3 in every stat but the worst character to play. I vote for the Wizard Slayer

I know this isnt what your asking for, but anyway...
The worst main character is the the character that is so weak, he/she dies when Irenicus is experimenting with him/her right at the beginning. Now that character my friend has no bloody chance :D

Impossible. All that torture costs only 3HP. You can never roll up so low. Boo has more :D

It has to be done! Some combination, somehow, it must work.

Of course boo has more, he is a giant space hamster (miniture yes, but does that matter?) :)

sorry shadow, the wiz slayer can be dualed to thief and become godlike in immunited.

my vote goes to beast master, or any bard type.

sorry, I know a lot of you like bards, but I find them useless and I never get haer dalis in any party. Hmmm...I wonder if I hate bards cause he tries to steal aerie...

In my opinion there is no general "worst" class. A well built party could balance out the weaknesses of any class.
If we are talking about "hardest solo play" classes I would vote for beastmaster or wizard slayer (in ToB it is the beastmaster alone).
If allow dual option (any race=human + any stat) then even the beastmaster could became a powerful (dualed to cleric), so the choice would be tough.

Well, yeah, in SoA. But druids come into their own as soon as you add on ToB. :D

I'm going to say fighter/mage/thief...If you disagree that's fine, but here is my reasoning: while in a solo game this character is great, in a party you will quickly become useless - the pure class fighters and mages will be so much better at their respective things that you will start just standing aside - why send a halfway good character in to battle? The character ends up being a versatile thief, which is fine as far as it goes, but a fighter/thief or mage/thief would be better. the fighter/mage/thief is a lot like the bard except with a backstab modifier and no song. The song at least gives the bard something to do at higher levels though, the fmt just becomes irrelevant. i think in a party splitting your experience 3 ways dilutes the strengths too much.

Jester & Skald (due to enhanced bard song)
Shapeshifter (greater werewolf only once a day)
Beast Master (this kit's a joke)

I have to say that the blade class is not weak.
For one thing, it totally kicks the other bards' arses in combat, and the penalties are no big deal -- you can still identify and pick pockets like a champ.

The dual-wield, plus the offensive/defensive spins (make sure you get the fixes from Baldurdash) make you pretty rough in combat. Add in spells designed to enhance your fighting style -- stoneskin, mirror image, improved haste -- and you're gold. Use magic missiles or Melf's Acid Arrows or MMM as your long-range weapons, then jump right in to melee.
Oh, the best thing about a bard (at least in SOA, in TOB it's no longer true) is that it's the only class that can use mage spells above 17th level. Not only do you get mroe layers of stoneskin, more magic missiles, etc., the BIGGEST advantage to this is you can use Tenser's Transformation in a contingency. This makes you pretty much unstoppable in combat -- just charge in against anyone, and even if you're taking heavy damage, no need to worry. I've been in some battles where I intentionally hit my character with friendly fire in order to set off the contingency and transform him into a killing machine.

If we focus on SoA only (no BG1 and no ToB), then the avenger druid might be the one, because it cannot be dualed to a fighter.

The F/M/T is definitely not the best party character and might be the worst choice for an already "complete" party (eg. F/M, R/C, F/T, T/C, F/D). But it could be an acceptable choice for a smaller party (like an F, S) which has no(t enough) thieve or mage. Especially with ToB, where the F/M/T could gain many high level abilities.

You're right Kovi - for instance a party of two with Jaheira and a FMT would be very tough.

I specifically mean as used in a full party. Even then if you think of the character as a fancy thief it could be fun, but they are not going to be leading the charge, or casting the big spells. As for high level abilities, Use any item is not good for much for this character, except getting Carsomyr, and the high level mage superspells are out of reach, so you could get assassinate, whirlwinds and traps. Not bad, but not as good as a fighter/thief (use any item to cast from scrolls), or a thief mage like Jan who eventually gets 9th level spells at least.

Really the classes are all fun and the game is playable as any class.

yep, jaker is right again...the lack of really high level mage spells makes this class dangerous...the killer advantage of a mage fighter is timestop, greater whirlwind combo. any multi with fighter wu=izard has to have tiemstop and chian contingency, to maximize magically enhanced fighting ability, or you're going to be much better off with pure fighter or mage. the mage thief is a jan wanna be..and we all know just how great jan is for doing stuff.

Unfortunately,my friend they changed chain-contigency to all spells lvl 8 and below, so u can't put timestop into it.This is one of the more subtle changes in ToB.

Chain Contingency never accepted level 9 spells in SoA either...

Okay I have to add to the discussion by saying that bountyhunter is pretty useless in ToB. Who need those extra traps then? Bards are NOT weak and every party worth mentioning should include one! Blades are especially strong.
Beastmaster is just a bad kit and I think that wizardslayer still is a bad kit.
