Double Trouble - Slavering Lords

I had a rather unpleasant surprise yesterday - my paladin was feeling indignant about slavery and decided that he was just about tough enough to enter the compound and try his William Wilberforce bit. Anyhow, being an anti-slavery protester, he doesn't apologise for trespassing, but says "bring it on!" instead.
the masssas disappear up their own - shadows - and I do the usual sensible thing of sending my invisible thief to trigger the spawning of various nasties. I send summoned creatures in to cause trouble and eventually decide that the demon deserves to be taken out by hand. thief stabs for x4 (using sword of the mask which I have bought in WK) and pally whacks away with Carcinophage. back to the abyss goes matey.
bring up the party - AI off - and with thief in detect traps mode - go upstairs (left side) and when the thief de-traps the floor - nasty people attack us. too many nasty people, so we run back downstairs.
melee ensues and thanks to insect plague and the paladin's sword de-buffing casters, we get rid of most of the slavers. loot the bodies and pick up Celestial Fury, which is a good reason to wipe out slavers in itself.
go back upstairs.

the bad guys are there too! in the words of Undead Hunters everywhere - my PC says "Didn't I just kill you?"

anyhow, we are pumped up enough and adventurous enough to take them on again and waste the mofos. my pally is searching the corpses - and says "helllo, hello - what do we have here?"
it is Celestial Fury Mark II.

Now I realise that the slaver Lords party being duplicated was a bug, but if I have had to kill them twice, you can be sure I feel entitled to two Celestial Furies.

...if only it had happened to my ***** katana *** two weapon style character.

Valgyar is ** kat and * dual - I may just keep him around to increase that.

Doncha just luvvit when your weapon goes "boom" ?

Hey, good luck to you. When my paladin(ess) was doing pretty much the same very early in the game, she used Blade of Roses, pretty much the one +3 sword so far. In the middle of that really tough fight, I realize she's punching them with bare hands... The sword disappeared and was never found again. Buggrit.

That area seems quite buggy, no?

may sound stupid

but I tend to only use Blade of the Roses to boost CHA when doing business - My pally is CHA 22 - cloak of the nymph (he didn't ask where Yoshimo got it from!) and blade added onto a rolled 17 CHA. he is one fit dude. I reckon that he's in with a chance of one with either Aerie or Jaheira - only problem is that with those two, no threesome is ever likely - I have had to send Aerie back to the circus because their jealousy was upesetting party dynamics. when Jaheira goes off to "find herself", I'll bring back Aerie as compensation.

as for duplicated enemies, I have had another instance of something similar since my earlier posting - we were in the Naughty Eye quest and kept nipping into and out of the undead charnal house on the way to behold the Eye and stick a rod where a cone should be. killed all the bad guys - Anomen and pally both with AI off and frightening the ghoulies off the ghasts (turn turn turn) - levels 13 and 11 - makes the bogeymen run away and hide in the closets. we had got rid and went in to collect any booty and lo and behlold, they had re-spawned inside.

still, there are a few points xp to be had and better than goblins.

had anomen frighten them into backing off and pally (Georgio - after St George) gives them a few slaps with Carsomyr - as he has ** in two handed weapon and ** in 2 handed swords - he gets critical hits aplenty.

a couple of mins and the area is littered with bits of undead - there are zombies with two left legs and three torsos, ghasts with bad breath and no right arms to hold a toothbrush and Ghoul Lords with very bad skin complaints.

I'm bringing up the party to a level to dare go down and face the chromatic demon in WK - might just about be up to it now. first time - the guardian NPCs at WK said we weren't up to it - although they let us have a go.
I want The Purifier and Spectral Brand - then I'll leave WK for a bit more.

funnily enough - none of my party specialise in longswords.
