Pc to a Mac

Recently upgraded to an iMac. Decided PC's weren't worth the trouble they usually cause. So far its great, only problem is I can't install BG2. Is there a program that allows you to install PC games to a Mac? Or will I have to buy a mac copy of BG2?

Thanks in advance.

EDIT: Did a preliminary price check, BG 2:SoA was going for 72$ (!!!) while the expansion was about 12$.

Not that I know of. I've never heard of such program before even though I don't own a Mac.

I'm afraid that you will have to buy the Mac version of that game as the regular PC version wouldn't be able to run on a Mac.

No fable, you're my friend. :D

Edit: Does anyone actually know how to use this? I'm really not good with codes and unfamiliar software. Nevermind, I seem to have gotten it to work :D

Technical Malfunction.. (I need some jack daniels)

"Seemed" to have gotten it working, but not really... So far it's extremely confusing for someone whos not computer literate. Can get to the install BG2 part, but when it says insert disk 2 my mac won't let me eject the disk because "applications are currently using the disk". Tried to get around this by saving all 4 disk's contents to the desktop. Seems to be working again, but when it asks for disk 2, I link it. Asks for disk 3 immediately, link that. All the way to disk 4, then it asks for disk 5 (!??!?!??). What am I supposed to do here, nothing loads after I link disk 2, 3, or 4 and then it jumps to 5. Didn't even know there was a disk 5... help?

Although I don't know a thing about Macs, have you tried copying all 5 disks to your hard drive, to install from there?

I expect some more Mac users will show up here in the next 24 hours. Keep checking back, and good luck!

Otherwise, try searching in the appropriate Bioware forums database on "Macs" or "Mac." Or post a question, there. Not to denigrate our forums, but they probably have more hits by BG-playing Mac users than we do.

The problem I'm having is that there is no disk 5. I don't remember ever seeing/having one and it's frustrating that disk 2-4 isn't loading at all. I link them into it and it automatically asks for the next disk with no loading.

Check the program called Boot Camp. It allows you to choose witch OT to run when booting your comp, OS X or Windows. So you can play BG 2 in Windows, while still using your mac ;)

Don't know if this is still relevant, but Bootcamp is the only reliable way to play PC games on a Mac. In general, you can't run any programs designed for Windows on a Mac (and vice versa) which includes most games.

On my Mac disk 5 is the Throne of Bhaal disk.
