Ok, so I'm in the "escort the traders" quest, I found the first camp. There's a guy who sells gifts cheaper than he buys them. The profit for me is of about 100 gold pieces per emerald. I've done this trick before. But once I've bought him out of emeralds and I'm about to sell them back to him, the prices indicates that I'm the one loosing about 100 GP. And when I sell them INDEED, I get to loose. Now my character is good, hi's wearing half plate and half bright plate sets. He's got no offensive or evil tattoos. What am I doing wrong here??

Firstly, what level is your guile? You need a guile level of 6 and above to pull off this trick. Secondly, you will not be able to sell everything for a profit to practically any trader. Most (if not all), will only buy at a lower price than what you bought from them. There could be a few traders where you can sell your stuff for a profit but they are very few and far between. One good example is the item trader near the entrance of Bowerstone South.

hmm...well my guile skill is zero. But, I'm not lying when I say that I've always done this. You see, what you say is true. What I don't get is way when I buy it say I'll recieve a profit but then I dont... I know that is not suposed to be that way but as strange as it may sound I've always done this. not always with the same trader but yeah, always. Although if I consider what you say, then, it may be I was lucky before but now ots working the way its suposed to. Which is good. I hate to think that all those other times were lucky hits or bugs... but...then again...I don't see any other explanation.

people say that the emerald exploit works well in oakvale.

having 6 guile is optional, ive done the diamond exploit using a fully evil char and 0 guile,so guile is just to increase your profit.

if your loss from selling emeralds is just 100,get a level 1 or 2 guile to start earning :D

you could get more guile for a better profit if you have the exp(the hobbe cave is good for early exp...and age, every time i get to oakvale for the first time this young girl greets a 40+ year old dude.he looks really funny when he does that surprised face:laugh: )

I noticed that the trader camp in darkwood works if you have alot of beer kegs. (maybe 60+) I had 60 and only got around 1000 - 3000 each time I did it. Then I went to Oakvale and tried it with emeralds and made a ton of money. Each time I bought and then sold them, I got around 10,000 each time :) I was fully evil and everyone hated me in that character XD
