Soul Gems

How do i put souls in my soul gem? Ive tried using the hotkeys when ive killed something im on the 360 by the way thanks

Cast soul trap spell while you have an empty soul gem in your inventory. Kill thingee while spell is active. Soul goes directly into gem. Lather; rinse; repeat.

I've been wondering how to do this. I had soul gems coming out of my ears, but couldn't get them filled. I think I'll go kill something now.

It also saves you alot more work if you happen to find a weapon with a soul trap stat. So all you have to do is collect soul gems & recharge the wep. There is a wep available but I won't ruin that detail , you'll have to find out about it. Or you can enchant a custom wep but I believe it requires higher lvls to do/get it.

Actually, if you make a custom weapon and you have decent destruction skill, you can make a pretty nasty one without too much effort. The trick is that it uses less "soul power" to put on multiple low-level damage effects than one powerful attack. So you make a weapon with effects like "Fire 8 dmg, Cold 8 dmg, Lightning 8 dmg, Soul Trap 1 second", then plug away. If you play a stealth character and put it on a bow or backstab weapon, you'll soon be wishing for more soul gems, or Azura's Star.
