Congratulations to Team Gizka for the fine job they're doing. If all goes well, then, eventually, those remaining issues will be resolved soon. :) Anyway, did Obsidian provide any help to Team Gizka in fixing those issues?

@ Walter, the planet restoration is a different project and not the Restoration Project (which is the one that only has 49 minor issues/tweaks etc. left to sort out)

@Des, as far as I know all the work has been carried out by fans completely independently of Obsidian

Also, don't expect a release anytime soon, it could take several months yet to finish off those 49 issues, as they say themselves on their forums that there is always a chance that fixing one issue could create another issue or even a major bug that will then need to be addressed. Still, it should be sooner rather than later that it is finally released :)

I see. Thanks for the information. :) I was starting to wonder if Obsidian did have a part in Team Gizka's work. This also makes me wonder why Obsidian didn't put in much effort in addressing quite a number of bugs that plagued KOTOR 2. All they did is just release one patch and that's it. :(

P.S. Sorry for the slight rant here. ;)

The official answer to that question is when it is finished :)

Yes Mr. Sir, I got the two seperate projects in different hemispheres in my brain (but they crash together at times, sorry). But 49 issues is better then 149. And it seems they are getting them down quicker, so hopefully we will have a new round of game soon.

In the mean time, don't step on my party :) Lately I have been getting sheer joy out of the little things in life, and a newer fuller version of KOTOR2 is one of them :)

Other then that, I got nothing to look forward to except death and taxes (both morbid topics to me).
Peace
Walter

I know what team Gizka is and I know there "filling in the gaps" in the game (this is probably a stupid question but I just want to make sure) but are they remaking the game with the extra stuff in it? cuase it sure sounds like it :o

It is a restoration project which means they are restoring content cut from the game, but still in the game's files. In order to make this work they will have to do some programming to flesh it out and get it to game standard but they are not adding anything that was not already meant to be in the game, and they are not adding any quests or areas that cannot be found in the cut content.

The actual release will be a mod that you will install after installing the game you already own. They are not releasing it as a full game as that will infringe copyright even though the mod itself does have the backing of the copyright holders.

Correct. Seems that for now the only mod will be PC. But these are very intelligent folks, so don't be suprised if they figure out a xbox fix as well.

Hope

Well at least now we could hope that the two doors in the mining facility that were locked will now be accessible. It is also good to see that your party follows you to the end.

The highlight of my week has started to be the Friday look at Team Gizka to see what they'vemanaged to nail this week :)

I think we should statr a poll on how long it will take them to get that last 'minor' sorted!

You don't need to buy WinZip to get the mod. There are plenty of free and trial .rar and .zip extracting programs. Plus, if you have Windows XP then there is a .zip extractor built into that. There really is no need to worry :)
