How stupid could they be?

There aren't many programming things that annoy me, but Bioware managed it this time.

I bought ToB and ran through all of SoA again (refresher course :P ). Upon finishing SoA just now, I had a pathetic bug. Half of my characters run off the thief scout script. My script (unfortunately) was on when I defeated Irenicus. While in the end cut scene, half my characters hide themselves. Upon loading the new area, I was suprised to only see 3 of my characters in it! The other 3 were nowhere in sight. So I clicked one of their portraits. All three of them were still in the elven city!. I took off hide from shadows and Ellisine talked to me. It repeated the end code for the game. Upon finishing the Irenicus movie, the game froze.

Come now, how stupid do you have to be to let a bug like that screw a person's game? Time for me to fight Irenicus again.

Dude/dudett, relax! I realize that defeating Irenicus with a party of mostly thieves, but there is just about no reason for you to lash out like this. I am sure you didn't mean to be so, well, mean, I mean we all have had our frustrations with BGII ( My game froze shortly after defeating the Huntress' party, before I could save ), but to be so acidic over a bug, is just a tad over the line, dont you think? Remember, they did create a game that you enjoyed enough to play through twice, so they aren't stupid, by any stretch of the imagination.

It's just the one of the most idiotic bugs I've ever seen. To let this one get by makes me wonder what else got by.

It's a HUGE game. There are a lot of bugs. Many of you have programmed and know the difficulty of getting everything right. It's nearly impossible. But if you can just go back, fight one more battle with certain scripts off, and have everything work fine, then the bug is no big deal (considering that you have already gotten 200+ hours of enjoyment from the game).

As for making you wonder what other things Bioware might have missed, I could probably generate a list of 20 or more. Just check out the list of what the patch fixes. But I still love the game.

I ran into that bug as well and I just went through will talking to the heads then fighter the Bhaal spawn. Once that was over I got ported to my abyssal stronghold with everyone intact, worked out fine even if annoying.

Bugs bugs bugs, if you want bugs in a game I got 2 words: ULTIMA IX, period, this is the hands down winner for bugginess in a Video Game.

Haven't played Ultima IX, but i still think the award of the most bugginess game goes to SIN, it wasn't even a game it was a bug.

@Quark

You are talking about the party splitting bug.
This happens to everyone who hasn't patched the game, and some who have believe it or not. Bioware has identified this bug in their Beta Patch.

If that still don't work, teleport the 3 characters in SoA to the area in which the ToB characters are in. Easy!

When in the ToB area hit 'x' so you can obtain the area code of that map.
