Ok...

Short Version: I'm having problems getting Bhaal to follow me to Imoen. First I talk to Imoen, then I walk up to bhaal, tell him to chase me. He does - but never enters the library. Any ideas what I could be doing wrong here? Thanks in advance.

Long Version (in case it helps):

Not sure if any of this is relevant but I'm playing a semi-solo bard in multiplayer. That is that he does most of the quests alone, and sometimes brings an NPC along to haul junk to town or the occaisional quest. He's about level 35 from doing all the (non-NPCspecific) quests and stuff prior to sailing off to Spellhold.

Had trouble getting Sime to give right response, seemed one of the vampires was turning into a bat and fleeing. This made Sime keep saying so-and-so is nervous. After about 6 tries (and changing weapons) it worked.

After I got by that obsticle I went on to Spellhold, and had brought Yoshimo with me for the trip. Irenicus oddly enough says he doesn't see Yoshi but gives me the tale of his trechery, and when I wake up in the jar - Yoshi is there anyway. Thieves die off and I'm in disneyland... This is where I encountered the problem.

I tried three different saves one at beggining of dream, one in brynlaw, and one back in Athalka. The brynlaw and and Athalka one I also tried ditching Yoshi before entering the asylum. So far nothing has worked or seem to make a difference.

Easy.

All u got to do is get a 100TON hammer and smash it right across Bhaals face, then u run for your life cause u know he will be coming after u after that.

Heh... LOL. I tried, or rather used the dwarven throwing hammer, as well as the ring of the ram.

After an hour of trying to get him through that doorway I also tried Horror, and beating him to a pulp, and giving him help - summoned 5 skelly warriors and attacked them (thinking maybe they could go through the doorway and pull him too). Nothing works...

Oh well... uninstalling/reinstalling game soon to see if that works.

I seen on another forum board the same problem that some one had. I would go back and check but the board is down until The 8th. It looked like it was a bug when you install TOB. I am not to sure if you have it installed but since you are at a high level I am thinking that it is. At the point of reading the other forum there was no fix I believe, but they had sent a e-mail of to bioware or sonething. Sorry for no help but atleast you now know you are not alone.

Thanks anyway. I have been checking other forums as well. Found others with same problem, no solution yet though.

This probably won't work, but it's worth a shot: Move within Imoen's line of sight and spawn in Bhaal by entering the following at the console:

CLUAConsole:CreateCreature("PPBHAAL")

He'll appear where your cursor is, and will probably repeat the spiel about falling to your knees.

Ah... may have to try that (not used any of the CLUA codes for BG2 yet). For now at least though I've gotten through it. The saved game was sent to someone who was able to get it to work. And they sent me one back with him inside. The problem wasn't that he wouldn't attack and chase, just that he wouldn't follow through the doorway.

Some odd things about it -
A. Some who have TOB have said they did not experience this problem (so it may not be TOB specific).
B. One particular saved-game seems it works just fine on some computers but not others (so the save isn't corrupted).
C. Someone suggested a bad install so I've completely uninstalled/reinstalled SOA-TOB, but the problem persists.

Can only think of two things left that could be causing it. One being a bad CD, the other a problem with the game settings.

...or it could be your system. Check [url="http://www.bioware.com/bgate2/bg2issues.shtml"]here[/url] to see if you're experiencing one of the known issues.

Nope... not my system, was a bug.

Seems that if you are playing multiplayer and have a party with only one character in it, Bhaal will not follow you through the door. Temporary Solution: Either go back to a previous save and add someone (besides Yoshimo) to the party. Can also Copy/Paste the save to the single-player savegame folder and it will work.

Couldn't be system anyway though, nothing system spec related is going to allow the game to work the rest of the time, but mess up wether or not one specific creature follows you through a doorway.

Just wish I hadn't uninstalled/reinstalled a half dozen times already.
