hey guys,

Iv had this game for a year but i stopped playing it because it brakes at a certain point of the game. On the mission were you have to kill the slayers and get the kidnapped guy and talk to him, well i do the mission but after i get to the boat and it starts to load up, it stops loading just just as its about to fill up the bar completly and then it deletes the game window. I also bought another copy after that because i thought it was just the copy of the game and i realized after i completed the game until that point and compleed that mission it still messes up! I was wondering if anyone has a solution to how to stop it from quiting the game and make the game work.

That's a wide-spread bug; there are numerous threads in this forum covering all possible solutions - do a search for "boat", "leopold" or "professor" and you should be pretty much covered.
Generally, I'd recommend you install the 1.2 Patch as ist prevents many crashes; there's also an excellent series of unofficial patches made by Wesp5, although those are optional, as they're mostly logical and gameplay tweaks.

Oh, and not meaning to be offensive, but... next time when you're encountering a problem (and you will, trust me on that...), please do a forum search first before opening a new thread, as most of the common bugs have been adressed in multiple threads by now. ;-)

Back to the problem at hand.

That error is an "Access Denied" error, which means it's trying to play a file that is locked by something else. To date, the only reason I've found for that is Windows Media player locking the sound file in it's playlist. If you've been listening to the sound files outside VTMB, then clearing all VTMB files out of the playlist of your Windows Media Player should take care of it. This bug can happen anywhere and it not a bug in VTMB - it's a bug in Windows Media Player.

After clearing the playlist, you might want to reboot as an extra precaution.
