Evil party (possible spoilers)

So I like being evil more then the good way of playing through the game.

currently my party consists off:

-Me: elven sorcerer
-Korgan: dual wielding axes and flails
-Edwin: staves
-Viconia: dual wielding maces and hammers
-Adario Kalvanas (assassin from TDD)
-Valen (fighter/thief vampire)

This is a heavy melee party relying for ranged attack on the spells from myself and edwin (edwin also uses slings as a backup).

Typical way of advancing through the game is Valen scouting ahead (she hides in shadows and detects traps automaticly, I've told her not to attack anything until I say so) Sometimes she charms one of the enemies who can then cause great confusion within their own ranks. Then Viconia, Edwin and me send in summones. Throw in some fireballs, maybe a cloudkill and then Valen and Adario make their backstab immediately retreating (Adario is wearing boots of speed and Valen is fast because she's a vampire) to go hide in the shadows again.
then Korgan and Viconia bash everything what's left to pieces.

Now to finetune things some more:
-any advice on what weapons Adario should use? currently he's dualwielding short swords, but I don't know if I'm completely satisfied with that
-Valen's claws appear as a dagger, but does it also count as a dagger for weapon proficiencys?

That's pretty cool - I haven't had much experience using evil parties in BG2 because unless you have mods installed, they're aren't too many evil NPCs which you can use - Jan can be used as a thief despite being neutral, but there's only 1 evil NPC tank (Korgan). But I should really play TDD with an evil party.

Anyway, I think you've made a good choice to have an assassin dual wielding short swords. There are plenty of quite nice short swords in BG2 and your warriors don't really need them, so your assassin might as well make use of them.

Not sure about the claws thing though.

How did you make your Vampire?

BTW, it's really unbelievable that there are only three evil NPCs in this game, not counting ToB. I mean, maybe you want to go all the way and live your life as brigands, fighting Cowled Wizards at every turn. I know that I can create three characters myself, but I enjoy roleplaying so much that I would much prefer having five NPCs to pick.

You do not create a vampire. Valen comes from weidu mod, and is pretty much a grandmother of mods, together with Solaufein. I'm looking foward to playing it in a due time :)

QuenGalad has it right

Valen is a mod

so far I like her a lot, but it's frustrating to always having to rest until it's night time because she is very weak in sunlight
roleplaying-wise it's no problem since my evil party likes to operate in the darkness, but I miss a lot of encounters you can only make during the day.

Ah, I see! Thanks for setting me straight, QuenGalad! :D

By the way, is the mod well balanced?
