In HOW the magic resistance of creatures is becoming too high. For eg majic won work for spirit animals in Burial Isle.

What to do when it is too high. Whats the point of magic if you cant use it?

:(

Couple of options....Lots of summons is one good option. Another is 2 lower the resistance while your mage is safely behind the fighters. If you dont have any fighters, then summons, buffed and hasted, helps.

I think Kieran Nye sells a scroll or two of that. Unfortunately my gnomish illusionist/fighter couldn't scribe it since it is from the school of abjuration.

There are two ways to continue using OFFENSIVE magic - greater malison and lower resistance. This should help return your effectiveness.

But concentrate on other spells - summons as suggested, or spells that affect your party rather than the monsters (mirror image, stoneskin, tenser's transformation, haste, courage, hope). Try lots of low level spells - magic missiles will get through if used often enough, several greases will have a higher chance of working.

But I always maintain spellcasters are weak in IWD. Use tone to support your party.

Having said that, my thief/mage just got credited with Icasaracht by using "Malavon's Rage"!

Thanks again for the replies. IWD is as good game burt I reckon it could have been made better with more snow areas and less linear story.

Kieran Nye is the innkeeper in Lonelywood. He doesn't sell merchandise until you find out his secret.
