yeah - thats a TOUGH one.
The real key is:
being able to steer with your mouse in one hand, and move forward and jump with the other hand. If you have to switch hands to jump, your screwed.
(note that you can always change your key functions in the options menu)
I think I've said it before.. but:
SAVE YOUR CHARACTER *BEFORE* EVER ENTERING THE WATER JUMPING AREA!
THEN, MAKE SURE YOU DO THE OTHER ROOM FIRST AND GET THE CRYSTAL NEEDED FOR AFTER THE WATER JUMPING PUZZLE ROOM.
1. angle your character so that it faces the shadow gate to the water jumping puzzle in kingston's torture room. (save your character here for a nice reload spot.)
2. activate a crystal of time.
3. SLIGHTLY move forward so that you stand on the plate in the water jumping room - without moving off of the plate. You should still be angled facing the corner of the first pillar waiting to jump.
4. Wait until the farthest pillar is down 3/4's of the way to the water - THEN move forward and jump when your character's leading foot is about a foot of the ledge. Here you are leaving your finger on the forward key the entire time until you get into the next room (the chess room). (..when you leap the first pillar should just be breaking the water's surface.)
5. When you "hit" the first pillar - KEEP MOVING PRESSING THE FORWARD KEY - and basically make a "U" turn (with your mouse) so that you are facing the corner of the next pillar (..jumping from the first pillar's furthermost left corner). This means you are using the pillar's surface more than you might ordinarily - and it takes slightly more time.. BUT it gives you a better running start to the next pillar AND it provides the angle you need to the next pillar. Again, make sure your jumps are about a foot OFF of the edge/corner of each pillar.
6. Make sure you repeat the process for ALL the pillars (including the last one - i.e. where you are leaping from its farthest right corner to the far ledge where the shadow gate to the chess room is).
More bad news - there is one spot further on that is IMO even more difficult (requires a backflip under combat while utilizing a time crystal).
