Shoal won't speak to me...

Actually, Shoal the Nereid won't speak to anyone in my party except for the main character. And you know, what this means
... Any suggestions on the matter?

1) Make sure you have the latest patch
2) Try reloading
3) If that doesn't work, just kill the hideous creature!

Actually, I've already found another solution: I hit her a couple of times, after which she decided to talk. I'm NOT kidding...
