Sorry for the stupid questions, I dont have a game manuel. How does charmisa effect druids?

Actually I'd like to know this as well. My manual says it is an important stat for a druid but it doesn't say anything more. Is this something that has an ingame effect, or is it just for game purposes only?
@Sarla: I recomend to have at least 1 character with a high charisma. This should be your team speaker and buyer. This could be your druid, but could also be another.

I tried to figure this out a while ago, and after extensive searching and googling I finally reached a conclusion ... there is no benefit to a druid with high charisma, except the same things that affect other classes such as better shop prices

In practical terms it makes no difference at all. Indeed, I have often wondered of what possible use charisma could be to a character who spends most of their time wandering around in the forest.
I think I read somewhere, though, that it is related in some way to their ability at charming animals.

I may be mistaken, but I am fairly certain that Charisma provides more spells at higher levels. A high Charisma score will give one or two extra spells IIRC. Whether that is worth anything when you create the character is up to you.

I am prety sure this isn't so. At least, not according to any tables. Only WIS affects your spells.
They say it's important for RP-reasons, I guess. Same with Ranger: why would a AD&D ranger need WIS?

I have a Pally with 18 char that does my speaking when we encounter someone to talk too. My party members include a warrior, ranger, thief, fight/druid multi, cleric/mage multi, and the pally.
I am thinking about duel classing the thief to mage also, but not sure what level to do that at.

I'd dual the thief after 10 levels, you can dual earlier if you want a second mage earlier. Make sure you get "find traps" high enough before, the other skills aren't that important.
PS: A game manual can be downloaded in the IWD section of

Thanks Kmonster.
Do I need to get find traps past 100 or is that high enough?
Right now I have find traps and open locks at 80.

I think 100 is a nice target number.

100 in a skill is perfect, more is wasted.
I guess 80 is enough for find traps, but I don't know. You can only be sure if you take 100. (I'd do it since traps can be painful.)
I wouldn't take more than 80 in open locks. I guess it's already perfect for the locks in the game, if not you can just bash or open the few locks you'll find with the "knock" spell. Better stealth or less reloads for pickpocketing are more appealing to me.
